Week 1 Discussion (Other Teams)

Chiefs were the far superior team tonight! Far superior in every aspect of play. They outplayed the Pats on offense, defense and special teams and kudos to them for whipping the snot out of the hapless Patriots. It is kind of ironic that the game before this the same Pats won the SB with an epic comeback. Sad thing is Brady looked old, Gronk's days of dominance seem over, their defense is a sieve and their offense lacks punch. Where do the Pats go from here pundits? Where do your darling Pats go? Staring down a cliff I assure you!
As much as I hate to say it, it wouldn't be unlike the Patriots to find their rhythm over the next few weeks and still finish on something like 12-4 or 13-3.

Although with that said...

How exactly is this a sad thing?

Luckily for the Pats they are in the AFC East so the playoffs are a lock.

And this is one of the big reasons they have had their success. It's much easier to play well in other games when your division games are a cakewalk, and much easier to cruise to best record and home field. I'm not saying they haven't fielded good teams, but there's very little that often separates a contender from an also ran. Playing in a historically sucky division has been huge for them.

The winless patriots.

Man that feels good to say.
Shame it won't last long.

The last 3 times the pats started off with a loss they won the super bowl. 2001, 2003, 2004. Hopefully this is not an omen.

A lot can happen between now and the Superb Owl. Since we're speaking trends, every time we swept the Browns we made the playoffs.........until that streak ended last season.

They're going to New Orleans next week. I like the Saints defense better than the Pats. Should be interesting.

Considering what Alex Smith did, unless they come up with a better game plan then Drew Brees will have better success which would drop them to 0-2.

Everyone here knows the Pats are going to be okay at the worst case they lose in the divisional round but I REALLY want to just enjoy a week where the Pats are 0-2. Is that too much to ask? You know if that happens there will be Pats fans banging the Jimmy drum and all sorts of other horrible ideas and I want to see it.

It will be sweet to watch the Massholes wollow as basement dwellers for a change, even though it would be short lived.

Sad thing because Brady was a great QB as early as winning last year's SB! But let me clarify I ain't sad, the fact is sad. I'm delighted like the rest of the Ravens fans. There was nothing more joyful to me than watching that 'sad' fact unfurl that night.
