The WR Thread

Gallup is pretty underrated imo. He does everything well. I wouldn’t mind if we took him in the 2nd even. Or maybe traded back a little and took him. I think he’s a pretty safe prospect too. Which we need.

he definitely has a higher floor than many of the day 2 prospects at wr

Hope to hear ravens have a meeting with Anthony miller at his pro day or something. Give me hope!

i imagine we've met him at some point - maybe at the combine or maybe at his pro-day
the only reason we'd bring him in is if we want to do our own medical checks on him - there's no point otherwise tipping off the rest of the nfl that we have a specific interest in him

1. ridley
2. moore
3. washington
4. miller(would be 2 if not for the foot)
5. kirk

7. gallup
8. cain

10. st. brown
11. ishmael
12. robertson
13. wilson

thats all i got for now

im just now discovering javon wims, after seeing only a highlight video, i gotta say this guy is the closest thing ive seen to boldin, i mean his style really looks familiar. the way he shields off with his back and then plucks away from his body no matter how tightly covered. i mean everything down to his stride and the way he secures the ball looks eerily similar. and i hate comparing guys to boldin because of how fucking cliche it is for a ravens fan to do... but tell me he doesnt seriously resemble him in this...

im gonna watch some more of him later on, hes definitely a guy im about to dive into big time, first glance the boys a dog, plays with a mean streak and a confidence and a determination that you see from the "tone-setter" wrs of the league.

There Isnt a ton on him. He's clutch and if you throw it up he's coming down with it. Catches the ball as naturally and as well as anyone in the draft.
Raw and limited so far as routes. Upside.

if the dudes got top work ethic then fuck the routes, with his skill set you dont need separation, you need positioning and to keep doing what you do well, and that is to play strong and loose and flexible, and box out and snatch it out the air. if he comes to the nfl and develops a strong sense of positioning and uses leverage well then he could be a beast of a chain mover. i like this guys game so far.

I'm with you. Ive been talking Wims up a lot.
He jumps off other guys film! Watching Chubb/Michel tape you will see making highlight grabs, usually on third down. Great leader as well...very undersung.

From br.com and draft guru Mel Kiper:

“I just don’t see Ridley anymore as a top 10-15 guy,” Kiper said. “Remember, they were talking about No. 8 to Chicago, maybe to Arizona at 15, Baltimore at 16 – it wouldn’t be a surprise if he went in the middle of the first, but I’m thinking more in that 20-32 range.”

I'm now sure Cardinals is absolutely the last spot where Ridley will be available.

Someone always falls. Wouldnt be surprised if it was him out of this first or minkah to us
I have to think you're doing this just to try and get my blood pressure up.

Of all the 1st rounders, why would the best WR and arguably the best player in any position in this draft be the ones to fall?

Lots of rumours teams like james more than Fitzpatrick. Im not sure how many teams would take a safety high (unless they see him as a cb) that both he and james will go before we pick.

I think he's a top 5 player, but if only 1 of them go early it could be james

Daesean Hamilton is ALWAYS open. Hes so underrated. If we double dip at WR i want Hamilton as that 2nd guy. He really is a complete reciever
If he was a complete receiver he wouldn’t likely be available in the later rounds. I feel like you’ve got a tendency to kinda overhype some of these receivers. Hamilton Pettis etc. Hamilton might end up being a decent receiver but there’s not really anything special there.

SSS called him a complete reciever. Its not just me. I honestly feel like Pettis and Hamilton will be instant contributers to any team that drafts them. They already run an advanced route tree and are able to gain seperation on a consistent basis. They may not have the highest ceilings of other recievers in this class but i dont think they will have a hard time acclimating to the nfl. They have very high floors and i think they would be starters on a lot of teams depth charts. I see Pettis as a 3rd round pick and Hamilton a 4th rounder. Like i said they have limited potential but i think they can be solid contributers early on in their careers

Dylan Cantrell is very interesting for me. On film hes a straight up possession reciver that lacks at gaining any sort of seperation yet consistently makes contested catches. His hand are like super glue and he has the frame, instincts, and body control to make it work. Production is good the last 2 years but seemed to have injury problems throughout his career and now seems finally healthy. Great blocking reciever as well, coaches will love that.

Seems like a late round prospect due to lack of explosion and then you look at his combine numbers and it just makes no sense
