Quarterback thread

say lamar jackson falls to the 2nd, would you want us to, and do you think there is any chance, that we pull the trigger?

i dont think its likely, but theres a chance, and if he is there, id probably scream at the tv for us to take him unless ant miller or mark anthony is there, i think lamar jackson is gonna be good and it would be awesome to see such a change at qb for the ravens when he takes over
Let's put it like this. It's not what I would want, but if the announcer says Jackson's name as our second rounder I'd be sort of excited. I like Jackson's tape and he looks like a great kid. With James Urban as a very respected QB coach, I'd believe in this pick. I just wouldn't scream for it because I know there are also nice options at QB later with Riley Ferguson, Kyle Allen maybe, etc...

What is everyone’s impression about Kurt Benkert, VIrginia. He’s 6’4 completed 59% of his passes for over 3k yards and 25 touchdowns. He should be available as a late round prospect. Maybe 5th round, but he’s intriguing. He will be at the senior bowl and I will be paying attention.

To me, it totally depends on what position we address in the first and who's available by the time we choose. If we choose him in the second, my reaction would most likely be "Eh, let's see what happens."

I watched like 5min of his tape but I came away impressed with his quick release, arm strength and toughness in the pocket.

I really like benkert. He has a lot of NFL tools, he looks like he's got a real comfort in the pocket and general understanding of dissecting a defense, and an extremely accurate arm. I haven't watched much but that's what I came away with, I know I had one gripe about him but can't recall it

I like Baker Mayfield as much as the next guy.. Which is a lot. But I feel as if he's reaching Manziel levels of overhyping. I have legit concerns about his mechanics and arm strength. At worst the dude is going to be a good backup, which is fine.

Honestly though: be wary of the Heisman. Most overrated award in all of sports. Tell me... Who was the last heisman winner to turn into a super stud since Cam Newton.

I will say. I have a day two grade on Mayfield, but the heisman hype might turn him into a top 10 pick and he needs developmental time. Which bodes well for us.

I also do not like Josh Allen as much as others. Physically the most talented QB in this draft athletic ability wise. Cannon for an arm and freakish athleticism. But Colin Kaepernick had this and so did RG3... He needs a TON of work on the mental side of things. He needs to land in the exact right situation or else he's going to be another Paxton Lynch. I wouldn't touch him in the first two rounds myself.. But he's a QB so he's overvalued. Only QB I'd take top 5 tbh is Rosen for that reason.

This QB class looks great on paper.. But only Darnold and Rosen look like day one starters

Nobody yet.
Turn the TV on tonight, though. About to happen!

hehe
was just waiting to see who'll be the first
I think the Titans might part ways with Murray and finally hand the reigns over to the 250 pound linebacker. Oh I mean running back. He looks like he’s gonna be a good one for years to come.

Meanwhile Mariota is on his way to being a mediocre QB who is gonna need to be replaced if Mularkey keeps his job and continues to hinder his development, which is sad.

if im the dolphins im taking that qb if there's a good one at 11 - tannehill isnt a franchise qb who's gonna win you games in the playoffs and you also have no idea how he's gonna come back
I see Tannehill as a franchise QB who can win playoff games IF the Dolphins field a team with the caliber of Jim Harbaugh's 49ers. However, his injury is not something to ignore either. I haven't watched a Dolphins game unless it's on the Red Zone (and it's still "fuck the Dolphins"), but other from LB, what other position could they go for in the first?

rb, wr, qb, guard, defensive tackle...
i could see them go any of those directions and of course linebacker would probably be their biggest need
