2018 Free Agency

I think Marqise lee could be a nice constellation consolation prize to Robinson. He is a more explosive more athletic Landry. He is known as an explosive receiver but what many don't know is he has some anquan Boldin in him. He will go into the opponents grinder with physical precise route running and move the chains. He is stout and strong. And a ferocious blocker. And of course he is always a scoring threat with his speed, athletic ball skills and run after catch skills. With Flacco throwing the ball to him he could really totally be the free agency steal!! Marqise can win on every level in every facet. At 25 yrs old he could explode in ravens offense and fulfill his immense potential. Marqise Lee is one of my favorite receivers ever coming outa college. He and Flacco have boatloads of potential together!! And he wouldn't break the bank. Yet could play like a receiver that broke the bank to sign

And what I'm saying is, he will get top dollar on the market, and not live up to the deal. Not fizzle out as in just stop giving a shit about football. Robinson probably gets the top deal, but I think Landry will be only slightly behind him, and Robinson will be elite while Landry is average. Now this also depends on the team he goes to, if he goes to GB or the rams or something where he isn't asked to be the focal point then he should do fine, but he's gonna get #1 money and never be a #1
I share you settlements here. I wanted him here but the dust has settle in once I realized that we're going to have to pay an awful lot to bring him here. Jarvis is certainly a good player in his own right but he will not live up to the deal that he's going to get.

Allen Robinson has become my #1 guy, he might be expensive and will come off a torn ACL but I think a pricy 1YR commitment will be good enough. He'll certainly be able to maximize his talents here. For him the incentive of coming here is huge considering the opportunity if he's willing to bet on himself.

lol thanx my spellcheck is set to constellation cuz of astronomy text chats with one of my best friends. He recently got into astronomy and spent over $20k on a little mini observatory telescope and computer. Maybe he can look at the stars to see if we get Robinson or Marqise? On a side note the pics the computer puts together into one pic is confusing. Especially when your eyesight is not very good

How old was rice in 2013?? He wasn't playing all that well in 2012. Nonsense to expect him to burn out b4 28?? He can and did. Go over his 2013 tape. Wasn't same Ray Rice by far. Google how many running backs that were burned out b4 28!! Especially with a heavy workload!! Marion Barber, Arian Foster, Barry Foster, Marion Butts, Natrone Means, Jamal Lewis to scratch the surface. Even Tomlinson and Eddie George were shells b4 28. Running backs slowing down well b4 30 is very well documented. Only a moronic GM would give a high dollar 5 yr contract to a running back with high mileage and visibly slowing down. He never landed with an NFL team cuz he was a shell of his former self. If he was coming off a big year and looked explosive he woulda played again. A team woulda signed him. But he was visibly a shell of the franchise running back he was. The ravens gave a big contract to a declining running back.
Many of those players you listed have an extensive and intensive injury history. I'm pretty sure them stepping away from the game had more to do with their injuries rather then their ability to handle carries. Ray has never had that concern as he has only missed one game in his career and had that hip issue in 2013 but looked great the following pre-season.

It's useless mentioning how he did in 2012 or the following seasons. You pay a player mostly for what he's done for not for what you think he's going to do. Following the 2011 season, Ray had a big year and was one of the top three backs in the league recording 2,000 yards from scrimmage and he got paid. Simple, nothing to do with 2012 or 2013, Ozzie doesn't have the ability to look in the future and say "Yeah, Ray, you're going to fall off and get into one of the biggest scandals in Football history so we got to nix this deal."

Also, please don't tell me this silly notion of how he's not playing right now because of his 2013 season. Reggie Bush recorded 28 yards in 5 games and TORE his ACL that same season and got signed by the Buffalo Bills literally in the 2016 off-season. Not to mention Ray came out and even said he would play at the vet-minimum or better yet play for free. So how Earth can Reggie Bush get a deal over Ray? I'm very certain that his DV scandal is pretty much the reason why he's not signed today.

I would be so psyched if we got Robinson or even Marqise. An In his prime skill set. If ravens took more cracks at mid to late round receivers and invited more to camp we could find some very good young receivers. Players like Malcolm Mitchell, Demarcus Robinson, Rashard Higgins, Kenny Lawyer to name a couple. and have them compete.

It is combo DV and declining skills. Cinci drafted a running back in round 2 that knocked a woman out in public.Injuries or no injuries running backs decline at a far younger age than various positions. And you would be nuts to give a big contract to a running back that was a workhorse for 8 years including college and clearly slowing down. Many running backs don't miss games with injuries yet are shells at 27-28

I don't buy that. If he stays at 100 receptions / 1100+ yards on average, that's top dollar well spent in my book. Whether it's called WR1 or second fiddle, I couldn't care less.

Landry is just destined to come to Baltimore for a slightly smaller deal RIGHT? He is a Ravens fan... I really hope he comes here I think he is very underrated at what he does when watching Dolphins game film.

Robinson was my no. 2 ranked reciever behind obj that year. Granted i didnt even have evans on a list, but i would love to have Robinson

ie, Alfred Morris

Robinson is a better player and should be cheaper due to the injury. He's my number 1
Me think we need a WR who can move the chains and attack the ball. I don't think we have anyone like that and I think it would help to have someone add a different dimension to this team.

He's my #1 guy and I think he's someone we would go out there and actually get considering that it should come at a good price for both guys. I don't think any team out there will give him a big pay day.

Well, I guess we're not going to change how we feel here. There's really no need to go back and forth on this since this is not the thread for this convo.

haha lol i had mike evans as my number 1 receiver that year, had obj 2 and sammy watkins 3 - then had a clump of guys that included cooks, benjamin, robinson and adams

So I don't know where to put it and maybe someone has already posted about it, but I saw in LFW this week that a team has reportedly asked about a trade for ZDS similar to the one we made for Jernigan. That sounds interesting

That was a really special WR class that year. And now they're about to break the market now that they're about to hit FA. And what did we get from that group? Campanaro in the 7th (who's good but that's still a pretty underwhelming haul for that class) and Perriman the next year. I'm still bitter about that, and I'm still upset that the Giants took OBJ - though watching us pass on him probably would have been enough to make me ragequit anything to do with the franchise and become a Browns fan.
