2018 Free Agency

slightly weird report from rapsheet on cousins but heyho:

I wondered why those in the know kept saying look out for Arizona on Kirk Cousins. Turns out, his sister lives in the Phoenix area. The Cardinals are in the mix, and that’s one reason why they have a shot.

This honestly means nothing lmao

yeah but this is how much you have to 'overpay' for good offensive linemen now - especially one you dont have to negotiate a contract with - and the holy crap was more for how big that move is for buffalo
They are now in legit position to trade up to go get their QB... All while keeping that second first rounder of there's...

i think that all those picks are gonna have to go based on trade charts
they are gonna go up and try and get in the top 5 almost certainly

2nd or 3rd pick in the draft seem most likely spots for them to aim for:

3rd pick is worth 2200 (and then add some inflation because there normally is when the picks are that high and the player is a qb - but for the moment ill just stick to the numbers)

12th pick (1) is worth 1200
22nd pick (1) is worth 780
53rd pick (2) is worth 370
56th pick (2) is worth 340
65th pick (3) is worth 265
96th pick (3) is worth 116

i think at least 4 of those picks are gonna have to go to the colts or giants (either that or a future 1st rounder too)

Hurst is definitely starting. I imagine that some news on Austin Howard should be coming soon. Then again, Lewis hasn't proven himself to be a reliable option either, he's not getting cut but its hard to depend on him atm.

I have to honestly say though, I feel real happy for Hurst. Dude was the fanbase punching bag and now he's rewarded a contract. That's a feel good story.

Per Zrebiec:
James Hurst said it doesn't matter where he plays in 2018. He just wants to help team win. "To be honest, I feel like my career is exactly what will happen this year. They’re going to play the five best offensive linemen."

Hurst said he was tempted to see what was out there in free agency, but he feels comfortable and wanted in Baltimore. At his exit meeting, John Harbaugh told Hurst that Ravens would do what they can to keep him. He said Ravens were true to their word and that meant a lot to him.

Not that much imo. It’s definitely not starter money.
For a team that basically has no money, that is definitely starter money. If they're really paying 4.5mil for a backup, with many other needs remaining, then that's even worse. So either way, shit. I mean I know he played a lot better a guard last year, but he wasn't good. I bet you can't find anyone outside of Baltimore who thinks he's worth that.
