2018 Free Agency

I was looking forward to him actually. I really like his film. He's got the finer points of a WRs game tha I really appreciate

yeah me too - if we were feeling regretful about the contract then that is unforgivable because a guy like taylor gabriel was available for virtually the same contract so the money shouldnt have been an issue - he's also 3 years younger than crabtree so it shouldnt be an either/or

i really hope this "suspicious thing" in his medical is not something that stops us from signing him to a different deal - ill be pissed off if he goes to another team and they sign off on his physical

Well, they’ll probably redo the contract for a little less. All he has to do is retake his physical and pass. If he fails again then it’s something serious.

Honestly this is fucked. Dirty ass move and karma will bite our asses. I hope grant breaks out elsewhere and I want the FO totally emptied now. This is clear foulplay and I'm disgusted by the FO

its weird because there was no sign in 4 years with the redskins... and as far as im aware he's sustained no injury that might open up new insight into his body makeup (a la zach orr)

im hoping this is a genuine good faith issue and that we'll just change the language about injuries in the contract and guaranteed money... or maybe leave the guaranteed money as is, guarantee year 2's base salary if he isnt injured rather than is injured and knock some base salary off in later years

or just sign him to the same contract but with injury language...

otherwise if he goes elsewhere and signs a contract and passes a physical there then there's obvious foul play - you cant just void a contract from cold feet and claim it as a physical problem...

I just hope this move doesn't go against the cba and we might lose a pick

Maybe Harbaugh asked about his faith and he said he was an atheist? :p

I know i'd not be in harbaughs good books lol

I am right there with you. I hope we can just add in some injury language and still get this deal done.

They wouldn't void it for no good reason. You'd never get a fa to agree to a deal again
Yea, I think our front office is smarter than that. I don't think they're doing it on purpose.

This is John Harbaugh here. We nullified the deal because grant isn't a man of God.

We're looking for preachers and choir boys here.

With bad hands

that can run fast

and say ''blessed'' a lot.

and don't act like bernard pollard.

What a great day for practice..

well according to adam schechter it's an ankle injury sustained on the last day of the season

it didnt knock him out of the game :/ it cant have been that serious he wouldnt be ready for week 1?

smells like a cop out.

thank goodness.

Jeff Zrebiec not sure the relationship is completely over: So Grant deal won't be happening in terms of how it was constituted. Whether it can be worked is unclear.

Rapsheet also has not said the relationship is done - just that particular deal...

but schefter is more adamant in all his tweets that grant's time in baltimore is over before it's begun

i really want zrebiec to be correct because he also said this:

"The Ravens had interest in adding a veteran WR even after agreeing to deals with Brown and Grant. Now, given Grant's situation, it becomes a much bigger priority."

- which genuinely suggests to me that we werent looking at this situation in terms of grant vs crabtree and that this might be a genuine issue that we can hopefully sort out still...

It is kind of coincidental, but no way the Ravens did this to get out of the contract. That would burn so many bridges moving forward.

I wonder if signing Crabtree would have completed the WR overhaul and Crabtree would have joined Grant and Brown in Baltimore. Don't think we would have let him go for any other reason. Seems like that was the case according to that tweet above my post.

yeah im feeling more rational now lol - my hope is that he's in the building and that theyve built enough of a rapport that they can work on a different contract maybe - maybe one that only guarantees half the deal at signing but that fully guarantees all 14.5 million of his "guaranteed" money if he passes the physical at training camp + throws in an extra roster bonus in year 1 as a good will gesture for making him agree to wait...

that would be a real nice basis for a wr corps with the draft coming up...

crabtree as the number 2, grant as a 2/3 and slot, brown as a wildcard with number 2 potential when healthy + the young guys in house who are 4th wr at best + any draft picks we bring in

suddenly ozzie is true to his word and the wr corps looks completely revamped
