basically replacing the conditional 7th we will trade to the Jags for Oliver and replacing the 5th we used on Wade.So we traded trash for a 2022 7th and '23 5th rounder not too shaby...

Forget the averett contract status lol one year of a cb3 who could be a cb1 on many teams is worth a super bowl run, there’s also the potential for him to take over for Marcus peters if the ravens decide they’d rather spend his contract elsewhere and re-sign averett potentially for less, could be a way for us to go in on the OL a bit more next year maybe? I’d hate it but tough decisions gotta be made when you pay your qb.Overall do you think it was smart to trade Wade out of all the CBs we have? Averett's contract is up in one year, we don't know how much Tavon has left in his tank after these injuries, Westry is as unproven as Wade and the other young guys play S/CB hybrid roles.
I mean its a 5th round pick from this year for one in 2 years and a 7th next year. Not the greatest returns but he was not very good anyway.
I'll take it
based on this snippet of a nothing drill lol it would suggest that Cleveland’s not even in the conversation right now for the start and that Ben powers is the starting LG as it stands but is in competition with tyre
sarell is a guard looking at what we saw in preseason 2 and now this
but that’s just me overreacting to a 7 second video of a positional drill
Shit westry might be worse than wadeOverall do you think it was smart to trade Wade out of all the CBs we have? Curious about your thoughts on Sarell. I admit I dont have an eye for Oline, so I don't really watch them when I watch the games. All I know was that he was the top Tackle coming out of HS. Why did they move him inside and how does he look?
Also, is Adrian Ealy a guy that can make the 53 as our swing tackle? Or are we trying to sneak him into our practice squad.

My man....He won’t be worth a fuck

Same, I posted this before seeing that lol. I would’ve already hated that, but that just seems to be the way this league goesman after watching that wired segment, and seeing how he felt about playing in Baltimore. I’d legit be bummed out if we let Peters leave. Although, I’d get it from a financial perspective.
exactlyLike getting Josh Oliver for free.

I would be surprised to see them cut Peters in the offseason. He's still under contract for 2022 (though not cheap) and I think it makes sense to try to extend him for maybe 2-3 more years next offseason. I can't see them just straight cutting him for cap space, because I don't think its that dire. He's probably got 3-4 more years of high quality play left in him before he declines, so I think if you can lock him up for another 2-3 years, that makes sense for both sides. An extension would also likely lower his 2022 cap hit a bit, which is due to be north of $15M.Forget the averett contract status lol one year of a cb3 who could be a cb1 on many teams is worth a super bowl run, there’s also the potential for him to take over for Marcus peters if the ravens decide they’d rather spend his contract elsewhere and re-sign averett potentially for less, could be a way for us to go in on the OL a bit more next year maybe? Yeah I dont think they move on from peters I was just spitballing really. As for the slot corner, I wouldnt rule out Washington just yetI would be surprised to see them cut Peters in the offseason. However, I see no way that both Averett and Tavon are here in 2022. I think its possible both are gone, but I think its more likely one or the other stays. If Tavon has a good year, my guess it would be him.
Averett's market value is a huge wildcard to me right now. If he were on the open market today, I don't think he'd be that expensive. But a good season that involves him getting substantial playing time could change that. Right now I put him in the class of "Ravens player that Ravens fans overvalue compared to the league", but that's mostly conjecture and could change.
The biggest downside I see of Averett over Tavon, even with Averett being clearly more durable and perhaps even the better player at this point, is that you again pretty much force Marlon into the slot. That's not the end of the world, but I think Marlon is clearly your best Corner, and I think he's clearly at his best playing outside. I don't know that I want to waste the prime of his career in the slot.
Even if I bring Marlon, Peters and Averett back, and let Young walk, I'm probably actively looking for a slot corner in the draft, and it'll be one of my priorities.
But then again, in the "way too early" view of 2022, Safety could be a priority, defensive line is going to need to be almost completely overhauled, pass rush is still a ?, and Oline may not be solidified.
