The Good, the Bad, and the Dolphins: Week 8 Edition

Alex Collins plays like Terrell Davis. Not quite as violent as TD. But makes tacklers miss without juking tacklers out of their shoes. He makes tacklers miss with very subtle moves. Strings moves together while simultaneously accelerating. And he looks very smooth and natural doing so. Very rare skill set.

Just wanna say that in hindsight I’m actually a little annoyed that we only had 1 accepted penalty on the dolphins after the alonso hit - should have been a personal foul on alonso and then after the play was over another personal foul on either Hayes or suh... I mean we scored anyway so no biggie but it should have been extra yardage

I don't know - in a way, it was good to see them keep their cool and take it out on them legally and then watch the Fins loose their composure. IMO, we did it by saying - we'll, we got a cushion and can take risks, let's bring the house on every other play and we'll get legal hits all night long on Moore ... which we did.

The only one I did expect was a taunting call on Watson, after he beat Alonso on the TD catch on the same drive. I thought for sure he was gonna get up in his face after that ... Alonso hung his head a little and I thought we'd give him a little - "thanks for the TD, ass wipe"!

Collins tremendous find. the hawks are deep in backs but what a windfall. proof again if we get a running game we can be a good team.

the liability
Humpf. I know most all here are gonna say he was effective and in on the plays. saw it differently. he kept plays in front of him with frequent and consistent hand contact over 5 yds down the field. the refs let it go last nite as they did almost all contact, note flacco and kiko, but Humpf has a way of staying close that is not gonna endure. what was that large corners name the seahawks had that went to the pats. when the flags started rolling they never stopped. the blitzes helped him also. was not amused.

the bad
flaccos decision to go all out on that run with a 13 point lead. he tried to give himself up far to late and he paid. even there he lacked situation awareness. i'm hoping mallet gets the next start because have said all along he can lead this team. you had to love the way he got in Suh's face. he can do and want to see it.

Huh - I stated Humphrey as a bright spot. Rookie CBs, even ones taken top 10, don't necessarily come out and play effective ball in the NFL. We're easing him in and I think he looks promising. He's got to be aggressive - can't play scared. Gotta trust he knows the coverage and knows when he can be aggressive and get help over top if needed.

Well, I think Flacco is likely to not push the envelope again - not like that. I only want Mallett starting the next game if Joe is still feeling any effects of this hit? Why? Not because I'd rather see Mallett, but because there is only one way we make our goals and that is if Joe is with us for the rest of the season. My only hope is that if called upon, Mallett can be good enough to allow us to squeak out a win next week. I've called Joe into question with his inconsistency, but he is and will remain our only shot to be a post-season football team.

If Collins leads NFL over next 8 games ravens make playoffs. And he is only scratching surface of his skills. Stanley needs to get a little stronger to knock speed rushers off their arc. Like I said Collins runs like TD and priest Holmes. With his subtle moves while accelerating and top shelf vision.

I know this isn't popular but I would like to have Alonso playing next to Mosley. I always liked him. If not for injuries he would be as good as kuechly. I know his hit was late. But it's heat of battle and he doesn't have a history of dirty hits. Even Kuechly was flagged for late hits. Alonso isn't Suh. He can cover running backs and TE's like a safety. I would trade a round4 pick for him in .03 seconds. He would seal up the middle and take short throws away. He and Mosley would be like having 2 extra safety's. And he can bring the wood and intimidate. If Dolphins are out of contention and trade him. He and Flacco could square things up.

Watch some college ball dude. Watch some highlights of players entering the draft. Make out your Christmas wishlist lol. Find us a stud receiver!! Watch a bunch or WRs. Decide the top2 we can get in round1. As well as potential studs In Rounds 2-4. And write an article of ONLY WRs you think could be the stud the ravens need. An idea dude!! What do you think of it??

The trade deadline is this Tuesday so that's not happening. Also, the last thing we need is another injury-riddled player on this team.

I do all the scouting that I can when the season ends. Too much fluctuates in the season.

So nobody is going to shout me out about Alex Collins yet? I’m been screaming for WEEKS.

Why is Allen getting the ball on the goaline and NEARLY coughed up the ball to the Phins. I hate watching Buck carry the ball. It’s weird.

It honestly pissed me off last night to see Buck get that carry from the FB position and try to score instead of Collins. He deserved a shot to get his first TD of the season especially after he literally carried our offense in Flacco's absence.
