No it isn't because a pick that sets up the opposing offense at the 25 still will lead to points.

The reason yards is used as a measuring stick is it takes that element away and focuses purely on how good you are at stopping drives

i am pretty sure that a defense can force a TO themselves or stop the opponent from scoring a TD even if they start at the 25.

that is what seperate good defenses from bad ones.

as a ravens fan this should be common knowledge quite frankly.
our history is filled with bad offenses being bailed out by great defenses.

points decide games, not yards.

a defense that allows a lot of points is not good regardless of how many yards they allow.
no different then an offense that can get a lot of yards but cant score to save their lives.

that is why redzone offense and defense are very important as well.
guess 3 times who has the worst redzone defense in the league....

also the browns are the ninth worst team in the league on 3rd down.

they are also the worst team in forcing TO.
