I don't want to flip flop on this conversation but I can't say I agree here. Maclin and Wallace are good players and starting caliber WR's but Maclin is often injured and we've seen him having to exit the field plenty of times. Wallace has pretty much missed two games, having been forced to exit the Vikings game early and then missing the game against Miami.
I think Maclin-Wallace-Woodhead-Collins is a good group of offensive players to have, but how can you judge Joe based on that merit if they can't be relied upon to stay on the field together. They have played an entire game together just once, if we're going to judge Joe on that then we need to judge him going forward with this unit healthy. I think Watson is a good complementary TE but he's clearly lost a step and Allen is really just a guy who catches pass out of the back field to me. His largest catch and run has went for a whopping 14 yards.
I can't say enough how big of a bust Perriman has been this season. I think we need to hold the FO more accountable, Maclin was a post-June 1st signing, if he decided to go to Buffalo, we would have Perriman and Wallace as our starting WRs. Let's think about that whenever we judge Joe and this offense as a whole. I think it would be nice if they OL can stay healthy as well.
Don't get me wrong, this guy needs to start earning his money and play up to his worth, but the guys around him need to do the same as well. I think very few QBs would honestly do well in this offense. I think we have not given heat to the FO for the lack of depth at the skill position on offensive end this year, they really did not do a good job there.
