Next Up: MNF Houston

i mean technically we could probably drop that lions game and still get into the playoffs... as long as we beat the texans this week lol
not that i particularly would like us to lose to the lions you know...
Since this team wants to start a "Why Not Us" campaign, I would hope they could do us all a favor and win out. However, it's humanely impossible to do such a thing with an "offense" like ours.

We just need to lose the Lions' game due to bad offense, Marty gets fired, Roman takes over and sparks the offense, then we go on a huge run. It'll be 2012 all over again.

So just looked at pff grades for the texans and holy crap is their oline crap. I mean its not even funny how shitty they grade. I dont think there was ome guy in the 70s lol

The only way I could see Harbs firing Marty is if we're on a losing streak in which each game we score 6 pts or less.

Well if that's the case, hopefully the defense and ST carries us to the W column. Somewhat related, I still remember how in 2014 we faced the Chargers who were down to like their 3rd string center (and I think they had other o-line injuries) and we STILL couldn't get to Rivers. That made me sick to my stomach.

Looking at the matchup. I think this is a perfect opportunity to unleash our dogs on their oline. Its going to be a hyoed up environment and yoyng guys feed off that energy. Yake advantage of that weak oline and statue if a qb. Let the young rushers like Henry, williams, Bowser, and judon unleash havoc.

I also hear this narrative that Z smith is taking snaps from Twill and Bowser. To be fair, Zsmith and Henry are our pass rush specialist inside from what i saw vs Packers. Judon and Suggs mainly manned the outside. I wouldnt pull either of the 2 out for rookies. Especially when both are performing at high levels. Best thing this does is keep the young guys fresh yet ready that way you have no drop off in production (as Bowser and Williams still manage to flash given very limited opportunities). Then who knows? Maybe Tim Williams explodes on the scene vs Pittsburg without their RT

Texans weak point is their O line. It's atrocious..which plays to our stregnth

Their D line was their strength until injuries but Dj Reader is really good and we all know what clownley can do.

They are solid everywhere in the DB area.

No excuses though...esp if ronnie stanley can play.

off topic but i'd like to see more from b.williams and pierce. It seems like they have a ceiling and it's been hit. Good players but not the creme de la creme.

Yeah I was curious why we haven't heard Williams and Pierce as much as I thought we would this season. I can get Brandon Williams since his priority is stopping the run to begin with but I feel like Pierce has been said less than last year. But Henry is making up for it he has been a pass rushing force on the inside.

Pierce has been great vs the Run but i wish he showed more as a pass rusher and frankly if you look at his athletic ability for his size its confusing why he isnt.

can you imagine what an aaron donald would do for this D line in the interior?

we havent had a dominant pass rushing interior linesman since Trevor Pryce in 2006.

the problem for me is that earlier in the year before he ended up in the doghouse, bowser looked good rushing inside on 3rd down, and he's a threat to zone drop from the LoS there especially if we are in the dime

for me, a lot of it is about scheme with these guys - pierce is not gonna get pressure so much because he's not in on many passing downs because henry comes in in stead, pierce has also been playing the nose tackle spot to push brandon williams to the 3tech - brandon has had good and bad games in terms of pass rush but part of the reason that willie henry leads the team in snaps is that often we try to play just 1 dlineman in dime and in the passing game in general and bring in a rush lb

this is probably why we arent seeing much in the passing game from pierce and williams - they arent getting as many snaps there as earlier in the year and willie henry is playing the jernigan role

Henry is showing us just as much as Jernigan did here as well so that makes me feel a little better after he just got signed to his huge contract

that contract was stupid numbers - he got $1.5 mill per year more than brandon williams

I guess the Eagles got all that cap. They have been a down team until now when they exploded out of nowhere. I was one of the few who predicted them winning the NFC East but man I wouldn't of guessed 9-1 right now.

I know we played the chargers in 2014, think that is the game Jimmy went down with a Lisfranc. Anyway, it would be surprising that we wouldn’t get to the qb in 2014, considering how many sacks doom and Suggs had thst year.
