I keep seeing KT fall to Atlanta. Would y’all trade up to 8 if KT fell that far?
trade charts say you give up a 2nd rounder or a little less... but recent draft history says you give up more - sometimes a lot more
miami gave up a future 1st and swapped a 4th for a 5th to go up 6 spots from 12 to 6 in 2021
bills gave up 2 2nd rounders for a 7th to go up 5 spots from 12 to 7 in 2018
cardinals gave up a 3rd and a 5th to go up 5 spots from 15 to 10 in 2018
titans gave up a 3rd and a future 2nd for a 6th to go up 7 spots from 15 to 8 in 2016
rams gave up a 2nd, a 3rd and a 7th to go up 8 spots from 16 to 8 in 2013
that's probably a baseline of a 2nd and a 3rd probably to go get him and im not sure i could personally do that
a trade up scenario is probably aided generally by how weak the class is vs other classes - then again if it's thibodeaux who's fallilng then there's more likely to be a premium on him because he's potentially that kind of prospect (despite the reservations of some)
also worth pointing out that i don't think the ravens have traded up in R1 at least since 2008 for any player that wasn't a QB - only trade-ups i can think of were in 2008 for flacco and 2018 for lamar - and both are not conventional trade ups in the sense we're thinking of either... we traded down before we traded back up to get flacco so actually netted extra picks and lamar we traded back in with our 2nd round pick after already taking hurst ahead of him
only other time in recent memory ive heard of the ravens even attempting to trade up was in 2016 when they apparently wanted to trade with dallas to get ahead of the jags for jalen ramsey but didnt want to give up a 3 to do it
i think that's important context for whether the ravens would even think about it - if they wouldnt give up a 3 for ramsey i find it hard to believe they'd give up even more than that for thibodeaux
