2022 General Draft Thoughts

100%

i havent graded any of the WRs yet and still have a load of the top corners still to do - and yet penning's already outside my top 20

all those guys you've listed i have well ahead of penning as well (except for kenyon green who i need to take another look at at some point)
Kenyon green I think has a real shot at being a stud RT, I don’t see how he isn’t at least an elite G, he’s a really good prospect. I feel better about green at RT than penning, by a mile

ekwonu or neal sure
cross is a little tougher for me to take if i love someone else who's there more (just dont think he's ceiling's crazy high)... but he'd certainly be in play for sure if he fell to 14
Idk if I’d prioritize cross over a number of guys who I think will be there at 14, but if we did go that route I’d be fine with it. To hell with the run blocking questions, give me a pair of OTs who can pass protect.

oh for sure - i think he'll probably be a top 14 guy and certainly someone with a grade that would justify being taken at 14 if he's BPA - just thinking about some of the other guys who are also likely to be available

with kenyon green - i actually really like his tackle tape... haven't seen enough consistency at guard yet to be sold there - i love the traits and i love the flashes where the good reps are great... just some technical stuff with his hands and his feet that make him a little more developmental... it's probable that he jumps penning when i come back to both of them (havent gone back to the penning tape since the senior bowl)...

and i think he'll probably improve just from being able to focus on 1 position (which you'd hope he would as a rookie) to begin with

the movement skills and the flexibility combined with the power and the hand power are awesome - a team that rates its OL coach highly is going to love him i think

I’m actually liking a lot of the S class this year so far. Don’t think they’re all studs or anything but it feels like even the mid and later round guys all have the ability to contribute.

when watching sauce, I noticed Bryan cook a fair amount and noted him to add to my list of guys

also watching the cfb playoffs Lewis cine dominated which surprised me given he was about the only draft eligible member of that Georgia defence id never heard of at that point

I’d take ojabo and Davis over cross, not karlaftis or walker though
You like Davis that much? Everything I've read about him is he's too one dimensional to take at 14. Other than that I know nothing about him...

Was he the one that got the two ints?

Yeah, I’m focusing on what he is and what he could become, rather than what he isn’t. He’s not nearly as one dimensional as he’s being painted right now. The key things to know about Jordan Davis are these…
1. He was on a defense full of nfl rushers, which means he was rotated often, as was everyone else.

2. he MADE that defense go, despite being surrounded by the likes of Wyatt and walker, he drew double teams basically every snap, and he demolished those double teams fairly often

3. he gets pocket push, he makes a difference in the passing game when given the opportunity

I think he and madubuike are an absolute dream pairing. Madubuike will always be singled at 3tech and Davis will push the pocket, and yea he will do that on passing downs. My entire concern with Davis is conditioning, but there is nothing to suggest that he won’t be better conditioned in an nfl program.

Thanks bro. You think he's a three down player?

I wouldn’t call him that because he’s so goddamn big he’s gonna have to come off the field, but as far as being “one dimensional” and only a run stuffer, I wouldn’t agree with that.

I’m mostly with you - I don’t think he’ll become a dynamic pass rusher but he’s just too powerful and freaky not to be a handful on 3rd down especially if he’s singled up vs the C

the conditioning is the big worry - just looking at how gassed he got when bama locked him onto the field with hurry up

he wouldn’t be my first choice at 14 but he’s freaky enough that I could talk myself into it

makes too much sense though for the chargers to take him at 17 (or wherever they pick)

I like the idea of grabbing Davis at 14 if he's BPA for us. There are some pundits that are describing his strength as being near unicorn levels. I'm curious if that's true, will be a fun one to watch at the combine
