Agreed, it would extremely difficult to imagine the Ravens passing on him. In terms of athleticism, intangibles, and traits I don't think I've seen a safety like this. We've been needing a safety with lateral ability to can play deep. Take the need/BPA if it's there and just be happy that a guy like him fell to your lap.

There's a good chance the Ravens will draft someone they don't meet with. It happens. I think they didn't meet Marlon before they drafted him, could be wrong.

in the age of zoom it's likely they'll meet with hundreds of prospects and we probably wont hear about any of those - in terms of those official meetings/visits we normally save those for guys we have questions for/about

wouldnt read into it either way - we sometimes take guys we had meetings with, we sometimes dont

also i think with this combine performance that travon's probably locked down a top 10 spot at worst with a chance of top 5 lol...

Say it’s round 2 and we’re Gonna take one of two OL, jamaree salyer or Daniel faalele. Are you taking the sure thing elite G who might actually be able to move to C as well? Or are you taking the high ceiling RT who might have some real bust potential?

That’s tough - right now probably faalele but they’re in the same grade band as each other for me

I feel the same except totally undecided. I’d like to avoid a bust in R2 and I think salyer has 0% bust potential and I can’t say the same for faalele, and it would be nice to stop drafting half assed guards and get ourselves a legit monster of a guard finally, but faalele is such an enticing prospect man

That’s kind of where I am with it too - I think faalele could bust but also he’s just so massive and athletic that as long as he learns to play inside out there’s going to be a decent floor for him too and the upside is outrageous - I lean that way also because I think there’s an ok chance he’s ready to take over at RT at some point in 2022 even if it’s not by week 1

I like also that he clearly knows what his issues are right now too and acknowledged then at the combine - he’s never been asked to vertical set in college so he just doesn’t know how yet - and his problem with redirecting back inside after over setting is fixable by getting him to play inside out and trust his feet and length to get outside (again vertical setting will help)

As you say - salyer’s safer and I do really like him at guard with some emergency tackle upside but I think I lean towards faalele

It probably helps that I still think tyre Phillips can be that guy at LG if he can stay healthy and never play tackle again

Yeah if he’s there you jump on that shit no questions asked. This feels a lot like jamarr chase and chase young, where late collegiate career downturns stir up a lot of negative talk but it all ends up being smoke, I can’t see stingley falling too far out of the top 5

this whole class is a mess - partly because of the QBs - but yeah it's hard to imagine it

i think the hope for us to land a premier talent is that a couple of QBs, a couple of WRs and maybe someone reaches on Penning or Green or a zone team takes linderbaum high, maybe if a team takes nakobe dean and tries to replicate what the cowboys did with parsons... or some team prefers trent mcduffie to one of the other corners - these are all possibilities but we need at least 3 guys we dont really love to go ahead of us so that one of those top 10 guys falls to pick 14

I mean yeah. Great combine but he’s still not a prototypical pass rusher. He’s going to push the pocket to an extent but he’s still primarily a run stuffer type of guy. I think he’ll go a little sooner than 32 and I think he’s a really good player but I don’t think he’s a top 10 type of talent with his skill set.

Lol that draft simulator from Draft network got me thinking that very question everytime I use their sim. I always lean to salyer follow with the drafting of Rasheed Walker… and then tilt bad when Rasheed gets scooped up before I can.

for me there's normally a DL who's available in R2 who's pretty close to BPA - it definitely feels like if you don't go DL in R2, you could well be out of luck until day 3
