2022 General Draft Thoughts

I thought he was gonna go in the second. He was ridiculous value

i never saw him quite that high - i didnt buy that he could play outside in the pros despite all his catch-point heroics - couldnt get off press and didnt have long-speed to consistently threaten vertically

which suggested to me he'd have to convert to the slot or at least the z - i liked him a lot but those 2 things dropped him a little in my grade down to a late 3/4

was still excellent value but i never saw 2nd rounder

I actually agree, insane value but I didn’t see a second rounder, I thought he would’ve went like 15 picks earlier and to be a WR3

i may have been too hard on Trevor penning. He needs a lot of development, and he’s Way stiffer than I like in an OL, but I think I’ve been discounting just how physically dominant he is. He flat out pancakes guys fairly often in both the run and pass, hard to project that to the nfl, but I guess you can project that the ridiculous power and size makes it easier for him to develop

He actually remind me a lot of Orlando Brown Jr. He might even have a higher upside than Brown. With some good coaching he can be a solid starting tackle, and he fits what the Ravens normally look for in offensive linemen. He's not a pound the table type of guy for me, but I can see him becoming a popular player among Ravens fans after he pancakes a few Steelers or Bengals players.

Honestly the only thing that worries me about taking any tackle in the first is if Stanley does come back at 100%. We then end up with our first round pick sitting on the bench all year long, unless he's capable of starting at LG.

That’s why to me he’s an early 2nd round grade - a somewhat developmental but exciting traits-based prospect with a ton of great tape but some technical flaws and some slight risks that will need fixing or mitigating

I’d be fine with him late 1 in this class because the class gets a bit muddy after the first 13-16 picks anyway

Benefit to penning is that I think he projects well to guard - took some reps at guard at the senior bowl (I’ve even seen a couple of evaluators who prefer him as a guard prospect)

Here's my top 20 - it's not based on who fits our team best. It's purely what I like and my scouting skills are nowhere near as refined as most of the posters here. I'll repost my final top 20 in the coming days

yes, need to have someone who can play guard

Kind of curious to see if the pick comes down to Davis or Lloyd, which one we select

it's an interesting question if you think Lloyd could be an elite all-pro type off-ball LB

because an all-pro LB changes your whole outlook about defence - LB is not a valuable position unless you've got one of the 4 or 5 guys who do make a difference on an almost immeasurable level

He has all the tools to become one in my opinion and I think it'd be a mistake to pass on him obviously depending on who is still there

Since we are picking at 14, is there any player that would be good value to move back into the first for the 5th year option?
