What makes you say that is some general rule just because you like this particular player? Players in any team sport who lacks effort are a huge issue for team morale and look no further than our very own Earl Thomas. And that is usually not something you can coach out of them. I'd hate to pick any such player before day 3.

i meant specifically with regards to stingley not that in all cases it was wrong
it's fine to have issues with effort - i also have them - but i see no such issues with stingley at all

I find it funny how the media goes from "so and so is expected to drop" to "so and so is a top 10 pick and teams aren't concerned" narrative. The closer we get to the Draft, the more I feel the media starts catching up on how the draft may actually go.

I feel like Stingley & Gardner are going to be top 5 picks, one to Houston at 3 and the other is a Giant at 5. Hopefully there is still a chance Kyle Hamilton falls similar to how Derwin James fell a couple years ago outside of the Top 10.

Joey bosa had a lot of buzz around him the last like 2 weeks talking about teams have dropped him way lower than the media had him, he did generally poorly in the interviews, his effort and commitment to football was severely called into question.

That's how I see it. I want corner to be the pick so bad. Or even EDGE if one of the premier guys are there. But if Hutchinson, Walker, and Thibodeaux are off the board and Sauce, Stingley, McDuffie and Hamilton are off the board, then we're really looking at Davis, Lloyd and Booth.

I think any of them would be a good pick and it would be interesting to see who we pick. But I also think Davis is gone by our pick too.

In this scenario, I think a trade down is possible or likely. Probably wouldn't move down past like 20, with the idea of possibly still getting one of those three later.

I mean... every draft routinely has players who had "effort" concerns in College that ended up being high quality NFL players. That occurred through a combination of a) the people saying they lacked effort didn't know what the fuck they were talking about and b) they actually just increased effort when making it to the NFL.

Hence the need for teams to cut through all that BS and make their own decisions.

I feel good about our chances of landing a great player at 14. I think QB needy teams are going to panic. Sounds like they will have trouble trading back forcing them to take a QB earlier than they should. I can see the Seahawks/Skins/Falcons/Texans taking at least two QBs off the board before 14.
