On 1st down I expected a run, after a run fails on 1st down in that situation a run or pass is possible and on 3rd and 4 they also played run.

Basically the only down they didnt commit hard to stopping the run was 1st down. The passes were good passes and the plays were good plays they were just to Maclin and Maclin was awful all night.

Above there it is again, just so we're clear, you define playing behind a receiver and adjusting to an "overthrown ball" as "breaking upon the ball". Don't follow that at all and I know Ed Reed doesn't.

One thing humpf has never done and something I don't expect him to ever do is genuinely break upon a ball. next year he could be a safety but he's not a corner and I'll give a hint why after the season. Don't expect questions to be answered directly though. not my job.

Can you explain what you consider "breaking on the ball" to mean?
 
I’m having fun reading the responses and trying to fill in the blanks what they are responding to. I’m assuming it’s ray ray since I have him on ignore.

Yep I mean all you need to do is look at the ravens list of needs to know the coordinators aren't that bad. If not for lucking into Alex Collins ravens wouldn't of been in that game much less playoff contention. Talk about Carr on Brown all you want. It would have left Bryant singled for a big play when deep coverage isn't Humphreys thing. And you don't want your young round1 cornerback exposed or his confidence hurt. If Humphrey were to get roasted and lose confidence management would be in far bigger trouble than for fans clamoring Brown roasted Carr in single coverage.

Jump routes and breaking on the ball are 2 different things. Jumping routes takes a whole shitton of mental preparation and involves a lot of risk and typically you need a specific defensive scheme to even allow you to do it, it's a rare trait to be able to consistently jump routes. Breaking on the ball is simply changing your direction when you see the qb winding up for the throw and having the ability to get there in time to break it up.

Rayrayraven doesn't see the difference and is once again making an ass of himself after a good week or 2 of redemption.

why shouldnt i expect you to answer questions when im directing them at you and they are relevant to our "discussion"?

and i dont think you understand what breaking on the ball is - breaking on the ball is about adjusting your momentum to attack a ball that is in the air or about to be in the air and using that change to get to the ball - breaking on the ball is not the same as jumping or gambling on a particular route - breaking on the ball is about changing direction

and if you dont think humphrey can break on the ball he most definitely should not be a safety - you've hyped him up as a safety for the whole year despite the fact that he's been great at corner and yet you refuse to say why - well ill tell you why - its because you dont have a reason...
