Pass rushers

If you want an OLB in the second I'll take Hercules Mata'afa over anyone.
I can't understand why he plays DT... he's 250ish, incredibly fast, very good at disengaging, why tf is he playing at a spot where he can get washed out if a guy gets a good hand on him?

I have to see film of him playing in space like an OLB or at least a true edge rusher. Do you have any film of this? Everything I've seen has him playing inside

Well I've watched 4 or 5 full games of his and he played outside (or at least as a 5tech) on probably 20 snaps. So I have a rare sample size of this, sorry. What I saw though is a great first step and a lot of strength and leverage, some average flexibility, it's not his go to but he can give OTs trouble with his twitch. To me his real added value though is as a 3rd down interior rusher where he is unstoppable. His disruption factor in those situations is unreal.
I agree it's silly to put him as a full time DT because he's going to get murdered there on run plays in the league, but as an edge setting OLB he looks absolutely the part, and as a pass rushing DT he's too quick and too good with his leverage to be stopped.

Oh, and unstoppable motor.

All agreed, his stutter step is out of this world, he is really fun to watch, but I still have to wonder if he handles his business on the outside. One thing I am absolutely done with, is projects and convert players. Get guys for the position they know and are natural at, stop wasting 3 years of a player because you want him to convert positions.

I see what you mean, and I usually agree, but I get the sense Mata'afa isn't a project. I don't see his learning curve being too steep. It's not Correa. He has the agressiveness and the athleticism of Correa but he is stronger and more refined in his technique, his hands are way more active. Plus, that narrative was true with Pees as the DC, that might change next year esp if we can get Pagano who uses his rookies really well I believe.

Just go spend some time reading comments on Facebook or Instagram I can’t speak for twitter because I don’t have one but it will make you thankful this place is around lol

Yeah it’s testament to how slow and bad that site is given that most of the time someone here will break news before them and write something insightful about it before they write their article

I mean some of the time I’ll break news first lol and I live 5 timezones away in a completely different continent

I never quite realised just how useless br.com is until it was unattached from the forum

I occasionally read the lfw I find them somewhat interesting sometimes besides that I don’t get on much

My kind of guy right there. I mean pass-rush is ALWAYS welcomed here, but interior pass-rush? Sign me up.

Because every week they're done for good with this team and everyone needs to be fired and their aunt is better than Flacco.
My "favorite" comments are those who swear they're done with the team because of the kneeling incident in London, but somehow someway they still make their way into the comment sections.

I haven't visited that site in months. They give me no reason to go..............plus these forums are lit lol.

Hurst, Payne, Bryan... We should be ready to hear a DT as our pick
I wouldn't love a DT pick but I wouldn't hate it either. Oddly taven Bryan is by far my favorite, but I think it's the pick that would upset me the most, just because I have a lot of questions about his transition to the pros and I don't like the idea of taking a player with big questions. His ceiling is great, and if he reaches it with us then I'll be happier than a pig in shit, but I feel the same about Bryan in the first as I feel about DJ Moore in the second, just too risky for my liking due to the development that needs to happen.
