Week 8 Discussion (BYE Week Blues)

Hall of Famer
Thursday Night Football
Packers @ Cardinals: Pardon the pun but the Cards are stacked against the Green Bay Packers heading into Thursday Night. Davante Adams is out, and Allen Lazard listed as a close contact is out for 5 days per NFL rules. It is unsure if Marquez Valdes-Scantling will come off IR before Thursday meaning Aaron Rodgers will be down his top receivers. As for Arizona, they look to remain undefeated and continue their surprising start to the season. Kyler Murray can solidify himself as a MVP candidate with a huge win over the Packers on Thursday Night.

Sunday 1PM Early Games
Panthers @ Falcons: Sam Darnold has reverted back to his Jets form and was benched during last week's loss to the Giants. Matt Rhule said Darnold will start on Sunday against Atlanta but it's clear his leash is shrinking. The Falcons meanwhile come off a close victory over the Dolphins as Matt Ryan and company look to stake their claim in the NFC Wild Card picture.

Dolphins @ Bills: Someone should tell the Dolphins front office that Tua is not the problem as evidenced by his game last week where he threw four touchdowns in a loss over Atlanta. Somehow Miami has regressed from their 10 win season a year ago and facing a Bills team coming off rest and a loss is not going to help their season. Look for Buffalo to dominate this one as the Watson trade rumors continue to swirl.

49ers @ Bears: The 49ers injury woes continue as they lost Javon Kinlaw for the season and sitting at 2-5 is not where they thought they would be. As for Da Bears, Khalil Mack is out, Matt Nagy is out due to Covid and Justin Fields is being ruined by Chicago.

Steelers @ Browns: Thanks to D'Ernest Johnson stepping up in the absence of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, Cleveland managed a win without Baker Mayfield. Mayfield is slated to start Sunday against Pittsburgh but you wonder how that shoulder will hold up facing TJ Watt and company. Can Pittsburgh get back into the playoff picture with a third straight win?

Eagles @ Lions:

Titans @ Colts: Derrick Henry isn't just coming for the rushing yards record, he may just demolish it. Henry is on pace for over 2000 yards and is a big part why the Titans are 5-2 fighting for home field in the AFC. Indianapolis got a nice road win over San Fran on Monday but need a win here to keep their division title hopes alive. If not, the Titans may just be the first team to clinch a division title before Thanksgiving.

Bengals @ Jets: This might be the week to play the Bengals in survivor while saving a good team for later. The Bengals play the Jets led by QB Mike White, despite trading for Joe Flacco. Look for JaMarr Chase and the Bengals to keep on winning against a poor Jets defense.

Rams @ Texans: There just seems to be several games each week where top teams get to beat up on the bad teams like it's college football. This is one of those games where the Rams play a bad Texans team that is going nowhere this season.

Sunday 4PM Late Games

Patriots @ Chargers:

Jaguars @ Seahawks: If Geno Smith can't beat the Jaguars, then Seattle may want to look into investing into a better backup QB. Russell Wilson is showing why he should have gotten some MVP votes as the Seahawks are falling apart without him. Jacksonville got a win over Miami in London and look for their second win of the season against a Seahawks team in uncharted territory being 5 games out of first in the NFC West.

Washington @ Broncos: One of these two teams should be on the phone with Miami calling for Tua if they acquire Watson. Both teams seem to be hampred by poor QB play as the Broncos couldn't even beat a Browns team missing half of their team last week. Washington meanwhile continues to find itself in the midst of off the field scandles being covered up by the League Office.

Buccaneers @ Saints: The Saints were able to barely just win against a Geno Smith led Seahawks team last Monday and now face Tom Brady's Buccaneers with NFC South supremecy on the line. Brady threw his 600th Passing TD last week making him the first Quarterback in NFL history to do so. With the Bucs on pace to match the 2007 Patriots, Tom Brady continues his onslaught on the NFL record book.

Sunday Night Football
Cowboys @ Vikings: With Dak and a much improved defense under Dan Quinn, Dallas is one of the best teams in the league. If Dak is out, then look for the Vikings to pounce as Dallas went 4-7 under Andy Dalton last year. This year, Dallas would be relying on Cooper Rush in his first NFL start to beat Minnesota.

Monday Night Football
Giants @ Chiefs:
For KC, their defense is one of the worst defenses historically and Mahomes has taken a step back somehow. If Daniel Jones and the Giants offense can somehow take advantage of that and win, it will be one of the biggest upsets in Monday Night Football history.

Cardinals lose JJ Watt and Aaron Rodgers may have to throw and catch the ball himself tonight. Should be a very good game between 2 NFC poweehouses.

Wow... wouldn't most Runningbacks have to give back half of their yards and TDs if that is considered facemask by Hopkins?

There's a lot wrong with that last play. The DB was all over Green before the ball was thrown so should have been holding on the defense or PI. At the same time, what the hell was AJ Green thinking not looking for the ball? Crazy circumstances there, almost a 100 yard drive come back by Murray and the Cardinals and if AJ looked for the ball, Cardinals win that game. Not a way you want your perfect season to end but damn now Murray looks like he could be hurt. Their season might be falling apart.

Watching a Lamar-Less game is not quite as fun and entertaining.

All these games this week just are meh...

He's not even coaching them this week lol. I'm surprised we made it this far into the season without a coach firing yet.
I posted this because their play calls look much improved.
also lmao at steeelers

Oh lol. I'm on red zone so not really paying attention to one game in particular. A lot of games I thought would be blowouts are close for some reason.
