Next Up: Bye Bye Marty, Pees and Harbaugh?

What a time to lose a DC. We're like hookers at a senators ball. Will attract a lot of candidates.
Which will make it all the worse if we pass on all of them in favour of Martindale and he turns out to be a massive downgrade from Pees. I'd say that's worse than neglecting the WR position in the 2014 draft.

Though fwiw I remember everyone thinking we'd go with Castillo at OC ahead of the 2014 season so if we did bring someone in from outside it wouldn't be completely unpresidented.

One of the first times I've seen the players take the loss worse than me. The pressers were depressing.
That was probably meant for public consumption. What I saw from B.Williams and a few others after the game were co-mingling with Bengals players with big smiles on their faces. That isn't how really depressed players display emotion.

Like I said, that look confused me a little bit because they showed Weddle on the blitz, but Canady took the correct drop; he just dropped too deep and should have come up on Boyd as Boyd was the seam threat. Weddle shouldn't even be in the picture. Bigger issue to me looks like Mosley was too shallow.
Did you get my pm

I think giving Marty a chance with a HEALTHY JOE and some weapons could be huge for Joe I’m excited for next season I think we have a ton of potential to become a powerhouse over the next few years if we build this offense people tend to forget our D is young outside of a few players and we were missing people like Albert Mcclellon who could’ve been huge at peanuts position and jimmy went down along with urban we have all the pieces and the FO knows it I go back to @Lost_In_Translation 2 year plan idea I think we attack this offense big time this offseason and this team could be scary for all of you expecting big changes I just don’t see it happening I’m sorry but this team is trending up not down
Agree, we just need to make the right DC hire.

The issue i have this with off season is that compared to all the other off seasons i can safely say that we've never had more holes to fill and needs. I don't see us being able to be competitive next year. We had such a soft schedule this year..next years is tough. Other teams have less needs than us. I mean the list is ridiculous

LG
RT
C ( resign jensen ?)
WR 1
WR 2
TE (playmaking)
ILB

I don’t think we get rid of Howard he was pretty decent, Sakura / Lewis will be fine at Lg, although we could upgrade. I love Chris Moore and think he could be a W2 but I agree we need to draft someone high. Te is also a need, thankfully one to be addressed in rounds 2-4, same with Ilb. Interior pressure worries me more than many of those issues

yes i forgot to mention the pass rush or lack there of.

LG or and RT
C (retain jensen)
WR1
WR2 ( Landry or Robinson)
TE
ILB
DE ( pass rushing beast please)

for better CB depth I'd cut carr though and sign Amukamara

I think chuck would be great back here. He was great with the Dbs
I'd love to see it. Few coordinators seem to have the feel for coordinating all three levels of the defense in a complimentary way. He just seems to have this innate understanding of how the three levels can complement each other. I actually liked Pees but never felt he quite knew how to get the most out of his dline or even his DBs sometimes.

Hopefully he does. The potential is definitely there because he showed it last year. If Nelson Agholor can do it then why not him.

agahlor could run routes in college and was a better prospect for his skillset.

Perriman has 0 route ability and stone hands and a confidence issue.

Not as bothered by Oline this offseason as last. They generally held up well and that was without the true starting LG and RG. Unless the plan is to move Lewis over I doubt they cut Howard which leaves the needs to be skill positions.

On the note for pass rush the Ravens finished T11 with 41 sacks in a bottleneck where 2 more sacks has them T5. The only teams to really excel in sacks were Pitt, Jax, Car and La. Suggs is probably done though and ZDS gone. That last one especially boosts our pass rush.

Basically to me our biggest need is TE. Then maybe a WR or ILB if they can squeeze it.

The 3 mpst important positions are set though. The OLine, QB and CB positions are fine so now it's just building around them.

This late and no news.... Marty is staying and our offense will suck no matter who we have. Marty is an outdated OC, we need a new school NFL OC.

The final touchdown to Boyd. At first I thought man coverage with bracket coverage between Canady and Mosley on Boyd because the corners forced outside releases, but Harbs said it was Cover 2, which I didn't even think of.

That means it was a Tampa 2 look and if I had to pick a culprit, Canady drifted too far to the outside and was too strict to his zone and Mosley didn't drop deep enough, but I'm not watching that play again to confirm. It just makes me upset to watch and gets me all clouded
The All-22 tape should come out today, so I'll be all over that play. I've been itching to have a specific breakdown of both that play and an earlier TD against us.

Let me know what you get because that play is throwing me for a loop because no way they should allow a conversion, let alone a touchdown.
