But who exactly would replace Harbs?
Del Rio would be a great choice. Just about anyone would be an improvement. Remember Harballs good years were with a team stacked with pro bowlers he wasn't part of choosing. In fact Harball was responsible for purging pro bowlers.
I like harbaugh and love everything he's brought to this team, we were a joke and highly disrespected and (considered) classless franchise, he helped make us one of the top organizations in the league and a highly respected one who shows nothing but class. But... he needs to fucking go, sometimes shit gets stale and ya gotta move on. Another year of this and we're nearing Marvin Lewis bengals territory.
is any more evidence needed? this is so exasperating. how long is it gonna take....4 outta 5 years and kubiak was the only reason it wasn't 5 for 5. we has a pussy schedule this year and folks think he needs more time?
I'm going to say what i've been saying for the past few years. the future of this team is bleak. compared to other teams we lack young superstar talent , have little cap and have no identity at all.
I wrote a thread a few years ago on br.com saying ''the dark era is here and it's going to last''..i was negged like crazy but this was all so clear to me.
I don't see us being a playoff team for a long, long , time. could be 5-6 years...truthfully.
I don't see the talent there to turn this around. So many huge glaring holes and draft picks that are killing us.
Huge credit to the schedule. During that span of 4-5 to 9-7 we beat the Packers without Aaron Rodgers, the Texans without Deshaun Watson, the colts without Andrew Luck, the Browns and most impressive was the 44 point win over the Lions...albeit the struggling Lions who look to be in the market for a new head coach.
We might have had the easiest schedule in the league this year given our potential as a team on paper, and the plethora of injured teams we faced yet we got eliminated from the playoffs, and dare I say we sacrifice draft position in the process.
wait til the browns jell......the saving grace is their owner is as dense as ours. If the browns ever get a coach they are gonna make our road tougher. How many top draft years have they had?...Johnny Manziel.......Kizer......lol......they got a guy that could turn it around from them but luckily they have hugh Jackson too.
He gets no fucking credit. How can his team be so unprepared for a game like this???????????????? How can Bengals who played for nothing but pride and to screw us if they can, look like world beaters and show 100 times more passion on the field in the first half?
Third year in a row we fail to make the playoffs. No excuses, no credit any longer. Can we have coaches who know how to adjust if our best defender is injured? Year after year after year we watch the same shit under Harbaugh. Enough.
well put..... a motivator that can't motivate......hes a worm
Harbaugh isn’t going anywhere
then we are screwed
This is said every time the Ravens are kept out of the playoffs.
its like reverse Peter and the Wolf........"harbs is staying..........harbs is staying" hopefully the wolf eats him
Just to keep it real and say if The Ravens decided to fired John Harbaugh he would be the clear best coach available. This year potential head coach candidates aren't really that hot. The idea is to do better than John Harbaugh if he was fired but honestly to keep it real with all the injuries and what not that occurred with this team they may not have went to the playoffs but they definitely did more than expected.
nah.....harball would be the only coach available who won a superbowl with vets he wasn't part of acquiring
This will more than likely be my final post. I just can't continue to root for a team that is the very definition of insanity. Harbs will continue to be the head coach and not hire the coordinators that will put this team into a position to succeed. Ozzie will continue to draft players that are solid at best and beyond useless at worst. This team has no passion and has caused me to lose my passion for this team and football in general. And that whole catchphrase of "finish," well they are finished and I am finished with them. I know some of you will call me a fair weather fan and maybe I am, but this is my choice. I don't know what team I will root for or if I will pick another team, but it definitely won't be the Steelers, Pats, Bengals or Browns. I thank you guys for the insightful discussions and for making these few seasons I've been on these message boards fun most of the time.
can't really argue against your point ...heck i'm eyeing the Jags as my next favorite team.......they got some players there drafted well.
On the subject of Newsome; It may be time for him to move as well.
The drafting of Corrrea over Myles Jack, clearly a top five talent to my layman's eye, is inexplicable and calls the entire process into question. I see that selection as inexcusable and a clear error. There are a host of other examples one might offer as examples of questionable selection.
Player development and utilization is most probably a problem and if so, this has a lot to do with Harbaugh. It is his apparent philosophy that a player must play teams to dress. I'm certain he isn't alone in this, league-wide but Perhaps a different philosophy might yield better results.
Harbaugh's cliche's have grown stale and it's possible we need regime change for that reason alone. He hasn't exactly been a smash post Lewis/Reed and having those two hall of fame players and consummate leaders did him great favor.
This is something on which I'm sure we disagree but I would make a move on a quarterback in the first round as well.
we have picked poorly for many years. we do need a qb but we've squandered a golden chance to get one by turning another potentially great draft year into a midpack selection by winning against our weak sisters
Brandon Williams played like an utter joke. I think we should've let him go in favor of Pierce and our run game couldn't have been worse. If we had kept Jernigan instead at least we could've had some interior pass rush along with Pierce and Henry.
the comprehensuv plan allowed Williams to walk and to utilize pierce. but ozze had other ideas. he wanted a defense that breaks late in games but bends just enough early to allow the break late.
No playoffs for three years and we lose at home to the Bengals with playoffs on the line? If I'm Bisciotti, the entire coaching staff is as good as gone, save Greg Roman and our OL coach. The OL is the only unit that exceeded expectations this year. I'm amazed at how well we did on the line with the scrubs we had at guard.
more than reasonable...but it shows character to stay with an aging executive and a bad business plan.....ownership is not about results, its about demonstrating strong character.
With all the HC vacancies I would think he would persue a HC position over a DC
hes not well, skinny as a rail now. god bless him...if he had his health i'd trade ours for him instantly
