Fire John Harbaugh Thread

I’d say our chances are better than that but not good. I don’t think we control our own destiny and require others to lose games they can lose. I’m not sure Flacco is significantly better than Lamar now to be honest but I think the only reason you don’t play Lamar is to avoid him getting hurt or picking up bad habits I guess. I don’t disagree on Flacco though one bit. The guy has shown he just doesn’t have it anymore if he ever did have it.
Why would he pick up bad habits? Why don't you think he can learn from mistakes instead?
Injury wise, I think there's even more chance of picking one the way they play him now than if he was running the offense full time.

Way I see it. I want Lamar to take the reigns next year after we upgrade the line. Behind this oline he'd be killed. Let's not kill the future beore it starts. This would be akin to us taking out the ROTH IRA when we are 54.

I didn’t say he can’t? I was talking more out of hyperbole and I thought that was clear with how I ended the statement/question but I guess not? I really have no clue why you wouldn’t play Lamar now unless you want to keep the horse you rode before. I wouldn’t call Flacco trash but I do agree the guy needs to go but he has won before. That’s about the only reason I honestly see. I’m just as excited to dump Joe as anyone but I’m also not going to say Flacco needs to sit now because I honestly don’t know that for sure

To this very day, I still think the mutiny story was overblown, but at least Pollard remains consistent on his stance about Harbaugh as shown in the tweet below in response to a fellow Ravens fan who asked of his opinion about Harbaugh's post game interviews:

To be honest. He has NO clue at what’s going on. He’s literally just there assigned to a position (HC). Football knowledge is 0.

Now, I'm still contemplating if I'll ever get a Flacco jersey (lol to that), but I'm basically done with him too. We all knew that he is what he is at this juncture, but I expected more from him this season in which he did pretty well when we're 3-1. I personally want Harbaugh gone, but if he stays, then whatever. It's time for the Lamar era to start. I've been wanting Marty to go as well, but since he has experience working with mobile QBs, I'll give him a chance to prove his worth as crazy as it sounds. Unless, we go on a Chiefs-like winning streak, I want the season to be over with already lol.

this tweet thread involving pollard i found interesting in hindsight - obviously it's pollard so take it with a pinch of salt (or something stronger)

This thread is nonsense. We fire Harbaugh and I can’t name someone better who is available in the offseason that is a better coach than him. I think we have to wait until 2020. The front office is not getting enough blame for missing on draft picks and handing out ridiculous contracts to injury prone and run stuff only players.

so what? we tread water just because you can't fathom there being a coach better than harbs out there?

sometimes the messages of good coaches can go stale
sometimes good coaches are not the right fit anymore...

im not saying we have to get rid of harbs - but we shouldnt really be looking at the market to tell us whether to get rid of him or not - if its not working, then its not working and there's no point standing pat hoping that something will change after 11 years...

and why waste another year of lamar's cheap salary when we could entertain a coach who comes in excited to scheme for lamar because lamar is exciting...

Yeah I read that thread earlier. I definitely disagree with his stance about Lamar not being the answer because we haven't had a sufficient sample size to come to the conclusion yet. At least Lamar has shown us that he has the intangible to be great. He wants to be great, but it solely depends on his development.

See that's my problem, if you have a top t coach, you don't get rid of him because other people screwed up. Packers aren't trading Rodgers because Packers are losing and suggesting it would be crazy.

For instance, were the Eagles better off after firing Andy Reid? The teams that win find a great coach and stick with them
The difference is that Harbaugh himself is the one hiring the screw ups. It's part of a HC's job to put together a good staff, and for the most part his choices have been extremely uninspiring, and a few down right awful ones. Kubiak and Wink are the only coordinators that really stand out during his time as our HC.

And Kubiak wasn't even his hire - Harbaugh was going to hire Dennison (after interviewing and rejecting Kyle Shannahan!!) and Rick suggested Kubiak.

Did he really reject Kyle? I remember we were linked to him but I don’t remember him rejecting him

I think it's safe to say Harbs isn't going anywhere until Black Monday. I'm looking at our schedule, playoffs are still within in reach as long as coaching doesn't get in the way. If we can beat Cincy, then the Oakland Tank... I mean Raiders we'll be 6-5. At that point, we'll have back to back road games against Atlanta and KC, followed by Tampa followed by the Chargers before finishing with the Browns. We'll need to upset ONE of either KC or Atlanta in order to stay in the playoff race. Knowing our luck, Joey Bosa will return for our game and wreck havoc on our offensive line and we'll lose to the Chargers. I'm thinking we may rebound and have to go into week 17 again, in a do or die situation or hoping some other team loses for us to get in.

I was wrong but, believe it or not, it's actually worse - he interviewed Shannahan a year later and gave the job to Trestman.
No he didn’t. Shanahan didn’t want the interview because we hired Kubiak after it appeared that Shanahan was a done deal.

Do yall see what Ben Watson is doing in NO?

Yeah, that's the difference between our coaching staff and New Orleans. Not to mention the QBs.
Hurst and Andrews would also likely be doing that if our OC gave a damn about TEs.

Why would any team fire their head coach if they don’t believe that there is a better one available? It’s simple business you hire someone that can improve or at least do the same job as the guy you just fired. Who exactly is the coach that is ready to come in and help Lamar? John Defelippo? Harbaugh is signed until 2019. Not his fault that the front office has been awful at bringing in players. If Harbaugh has had a say in who to draft then I can say he should be fired, but at the end of the day it’s still Ozzie’s decisions on who to draft. I called it before the season began, it was not a good roster and our schedule on top of that is just brutal.
