The 2022 Offseason Thread

Curious to see how fast he latches on to another team. I guess if Moore got scooped up for his ST abilities alone, Miles shouldn’t have an issue finding work

idk - he's not that good at special teams - moore was a really good special teamer - boykin's just fine at it

i imagine we'll sign a cheap vet and we might draft someone (if the value's too good to pass up like it was with wallace) - i doubt we go to camp without adding at least someone - if we do, then i imagine it's either boykin (if we keep him) or we go with only 5 guys - cant imagine a victor or moore type being one of the 53 best players on the team and i dont think they've got any special teams prowess either

These are good points. I just can't believe with the cap savings we could get Boykin would stay around. I would think we'd like to keep our picks out of WR land too unless like you said there's someone too good to pass up. Which would mean signing a cheap vet.

Metchie drops because of the injury?

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons they couldn't do Redwolves is because they couldn't get a copyright on the name.
it was trademark infringement.

“Numerous” existing Wolves-based marks registered for sports-related goods and services could impede various WFT applications, he said, citing marks held by the Minnesota Timberwolves or its affiliate Iowa Wolves as examples.

So they couldn't use Wolves or Redwolves or Red Wolves.

New Commanders team song:

Hail to the Commies!

Hail Victory!

Commies on the Ocean!

Fight for old D.C.!

Run or pass and score—We want a lot more!

Beat 'em, nuke 'em, Touchdown! -- Let the points soar!

Fight on, fight on 'Til you have won

Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!

Hail to the Commies!

Hail Victory!

Commies on the Ocean!

Fight for old D.C.!

Now I'm hoping the uniform isn't going Commando, because that would cause some issues or not. It could distract fans from the terrible play.

Does he regularly do this? Seems strange we’re disclosing who we like.

Also is it just me or does he kind of sound like Christopher Walken?

he did it last year 2 - and it’s just tips for guys for fans to watch and some tidbits about each

notice that 2 of the guys he picked have interesting backgrounds and the other 2 are both smaller school guys

Did he really do the same thing last year? Any chance you remember who he named last year?

can't find the video but here's the 7 guys he mentioned last year:
https://www.baltimoreravens.com/pho...interest#b452ecf3-e05f-4755-8a02-51d421d30e0f

Tylan Wallace (who we ended up drafting)
Kadarius Toney
Sage Surratt
D'Wayne Eskridge
Dillon Radunz
David Moore
Quinn Meinerz

i will point out that he often picks out guys that he thinks fans will be interested in who they might not be aware of - often points out small school players or guys with interesting stories

and then often gives bad descriptions of them - i remember instantly knowing this was all a lie based off how he described toney and surratt last year

we're too far away from the draft for there to be any worries about tipping hands...

this year's guys he mentioned:

Daniel Faalele (who had bad first 2 days of practice)
Bernhard Raimann (who also hasnt had great first 2 days of practice)
both have interesting backgrounds and are new to the sport
Luke Goedeke who is a small school guy like raimann
Cole Strange who's a small school guy transitioning to C

but i love that he mentioned Raimann as having long arms because that's factually inaccurate lol and it's funny because that's one of the few measurables the ravens seem to care about in OL they draft high

the mind games start early

Wait so is he legitimately trolling?

Wait so is he legitimately trolling?

yes and no

all he's doing is pointing out some interesting players for fans to look for and know that the front office is genuinely looking at them too
he's acknowledging that we're clearly looking at OTs and Cs in the draft just like last year he gave us WRs and OL

but the actual profiles are a bit vague and meaningless - he gives you truths and untruths in the same tidbits

also really off-putting that he basically only blinks like once in the entire video

basically dont read anything more from it beyond just that he's watching the OL (and especially OTs) for a reason but also worth pointing out that we havent drafted a senior bowl alum with either of our first 2 picks for as long as i can remember - we love the senior bowl for finding mid and late round gems normally - this is an interesting set of OL at the senior bowl this year but the best OL arent here just like last year the best WRs werent here either (devonta smith sort of was but wasnt and kadarius toney eventually went a bit higher than i think some thought he would)
