2018 Scouting Combine

Hed be awesome here. Would def bring s

Sutton was pacing himself. He was running slow so he can focus on catching passes. If you watcb Ridley run it hes going near full speed letting his hamds react. I felt like Sutton was waiting for each throw, seems like he trained really bard for that drill. Which iant necessarily a bad thing i jist dont think he looked as natural as you say. Didnt see St. Brown.

Did Dj Moore run the gauntlet? I dont recall seeing him
ridley also dropped one. sutton caught all of them perfectly and didnt look to be "slow", hes just a long and effortless strider.

ftr, im not big on sutton at all. so this is unbiased

Ya im not too worried about ridley dropping 1. We all know he can catch and im not a big Sutton fan either. His hands are too inconsistent

Did you see Payne today.....no way a man that big should be able to move so easy

I dont think combine should be evalutated in the way that many evaluate it. I mean if you think both players are close yet one has a better 40, vert, stronger and you give him the edge, thats fine but throwing accurate passes and catching ball with gym shorts on under no pressure isnt impressive at all to me.

Ya i agree. If im close between prospects and one shows up better at the combine then i usually slot him ahead. The combine, to me, is to see any physical limitations you may see on tape.

Nope. Allen had an awesome combine but Rosen far outdid even my expectations by showing that he is an absolute charmer and that he didn't have an above average arm, but a good arm in general. Sure, Allen is still more physically talented, but put the pads on. Allen may be more gifted But Rosen's baggaage is easily lesser on the field.
Rosen has some amazing arm talent. If the Browns or Giants pass on him they are going to be sorry.

sometimes that's the case for me but more often than not it just sends me back into the tape to reevaluate with context rather than overtly being an actual differential

Ya of course you always want to go back to the tape but its nice to have numbers too, especially to compare to who you think their player comp is too

i get why some analysts and so-called draftniks are calling saquon barkley the best player in the draft and some are saying the browns have to take him at number 1 or the giants at number 2 but the opportunity cost of not taking a qb is much greater even if you do truly believe barkley is a better player...

fair enough - i personally dont really find player comps that useful because ive only started the deep dive into the draft maybe in 2014...

All teams do it to gauge what production they might bring. You have a best case comp, worst case comp, and who you think he will be. Its not necessarily saying he will be that exact player but he will be as productive as that player

Totally agree and even though he is going to be a great RB at the next level, you can still find a great running back in other rounds. QBs can also be found in other rounds, but the chances are much smaller to find a franchise qb after the first round then a top RB.

I always thought Josh Sweat was super talented. He just never produced up to that talent. Still super athletic and has tons of potential as a 3-4 pass rusher

Va Tech had a chance of recruiting Sweat, very talented player, ended up going to FSU of course. Curious about him coming out after only 3 years, thought he would do better staying another year and developing but the talent is there
