What position will the Ravens select with their first pick in the draft?

Seattle never does the sensible thing in the first round. I'm suspecting they take Matt Corral

Hopefully Seattle takes Penning or Neal, then New Orleans trades up to grab the other. I really want a defensive player... Jordan Davis, Stingley, Gardner or Hamilton. If KT or Hutchinson falls, go get them.

I love Schrager but just came across a tweet of his from last night saying that Dax Hill and/or Lewis Cine in the 1st is gaining some buzz as a surprise. Not sure what mocks he had been looking at but they've been in 1st round consideration for awhile now.

Last week a bunch of people were saying Dax Hill had such bad interviews he was gonna fall out of the first round. But yeah seems like Cine has been a lock for awhile now

I forget: is it max 10 minutes per pick or 15 min in Rd1?
Calculating at which time I need to wake up to see from approximately pick 8 to not risk miss Ravens-related suspense

10 minutes, I believe. For some reason I always think it's 15 minutes even though that was apparently changed in 2007.

I changed my mind on Jordan Davis. I'd be happy if we got him. I think he has all the tools necessary to become a three down monster. Still hoping for KT or Hamilton though, but I'll no longer be upset if we come out with one of the best athletes at the DT position in college football history.

Man fuck work today. I just wanna be at home, stoned to the bone and watching the draft and flipping the fuck out about it
west coast time but I had to meet with a teacher today for a makeup quiz (so I thought)
turns out his office hours are actually Tuesday so I don't have a worry until next week!

sounds like the bong and rapidly refreshing twitter is happening early today for me

I'm not overly scared of Pittsburgh's defense either to be honest. I don't think its a bad defense, but I think they're living off reputation a little bit.
They've had a couple straight years of being a team that people can run on (which is not ideal in a division with three teams that can run the ball pretty well), and I think their overall secondary is average.

Really don't view them as better than last year, and they weren't a threat to anybody last year.
to you and anyone else who wants to rat on the Steelers, they have beaten us 4 straight times.
we are there bitch.

people seem to forget we still actually only have 2 corners on this roster. we need one in our first 3 picks pretty damn bad.
who is supose to cover T higgins or Boyd on this team right now lol

From Lost In Translation. I'll break this up into 3 different posts

Here’s a disclaimer for everyone. This is the hardest draft ever to predict. The talent pool is so consistently mediocre that literally no pick is safe.

Round One:
  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travon Walker, Edge, Georgia
    1. This would be such a LOLJAGUARS moment. Walker is the rawest edge defender in the first round, and while he has tremendous athletic tools at his disposal, he’s even rawer than Oweh(as a pass rusher. Walker is decent in coverage and a good run defender, if not a little overrated). You didn’t hear me throw a giant fit over Oweh though because we have a history of developing these types. What the hell is Jacksonville doing? Well. Needless to say, given that Baalke is their GM, I wholeheartedly believe that this is going to happen. You could have gotten a franchise LT here, or Hutchinson who is on a similar grade for me as the Bosa brothers. Nope. You take the athletic marvel who leaves a lot to be desired. If the Jets or Commanders drafted Walker, or we even drafted him, I’d like it. But the JAGUARS? No. Enjoy being the clown show. Note: This pick wouldn’t be bad past the top 5. But I think the Jaguars are a horrible fit. Watch it backfire now that I’ve trashed him.
  2. Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson: Edge, Michigan
    1. So it looks like Dan Campbell is a good coach. He got rid of the problem last year in his OC. Sadly, the Lions despite playing with loads of heart lack any talent. Any pick would be good but Hutchinson makes too much sense. He’s not only local, but he has the chops to actually be worth a selection here. Is Hutchinson as good as Myles Garret or Chase Young, or even the Bosas? No. But he’s basically bust-proof and comes into the league with top tools. Most of all, and why I would run to the podium to take him if I was on any team is that he is a guy who can anchor your locker room and is scheme agnostic. Hutchinson may not be the super-elite edge player you’d normally want, but he’s a franchise player. Well worth it if you are Detroit.
  3. Houston Texans: Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Oregon
    1. Kayvon is more athletic than Hutchinson but not as polished. Higher ceiling but character concerns are here. This would be a classic Texans move to draft an edge defender on full-blown athletic traits when frankly better edge players are taken later(Jermaine Johnson anyone? That said. Kayvon is actually still top-5 caliber. So it’s not a bad pick, I’d just advise Houston to be very wary. I don’t think he’s going to fall. While he’s not quite what you’d want, he’s still a good player who could become a #1 pass rusher.
  4. New York Jets: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
    1. This is a classic Jets move. The best player in the draft falls into their lap. It probably won’t work out anyway because that’s how it goes for them, but Evan Neal for my money has the potential to be the best LT in the NFL one day. But for the Jets, assuming Becton comes back healthy, Neal can play RT, where he does have some experience playing. You have a new young QB. Protect him at all costs.
  5. New York Giants: Ikem Ekwonu, OT/OG, NC State
    1. Ekwonu is a bit wonky as a prospect because he’s my #3 T but my #1 overall G. The Giants can use all the OL help they can get, and while he is, at least in my mind, a pro bowl caliber T, he’s an all pro caliber G. It’s basically as safe of a pick as you can get, and the Giants need that. Andrew Thomas looks like a franchise LT. But it would not hurt the Giants at all to take a dude who can either come next to him.
  6. Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
    1. This move would be a LOLPANTHERS move too. After ruining Cam Newton, and hiring a coach that’s clearly in over his head, you take this draft’s version of Andy Dalton. Pickett isn’t bad, but he’s not exactly a high ceiling QB. Pickett can probably run the Rhule offense and they need a guy NOW.
  7. New York Giants: Jermaine Johnson, Edge, Florida State
    1. Jermaine Johnson is my #2 edge behind Hutchinson. He’s an elite run defender, and an elite athlete. While as a Ravens fan I am happy Wink is gone(he needed to be fired for multitudes of reasons) but Johnson is kind of the perfect Edge for his defense. Unlike Walker, I think his raw traits actually project really well to the next level(his elite bullrush in particular alone will make him a starting-caliber player for his whole career)
  8. Atlanta Falcons: Derek Stingley Jr, CB, LSU
    1. Stingley and Gardner are basically 1a 1b for me. The Falcons need literally every position except for TE. So taking the top player remaining on the board is advisable. Stingley and Terrell could provide a great CB duo moving forward. You’re not winning anything this year. Get your QB next year and build up the rest of the team this year.
  9. Seattle Seahawks: Braxton Jones, OT, Southern Utah
    1. You may be laughing but look at who is making this pick. This is the seahawks. They do this kind of thing all the time. Taking a player 1-2 rounds too early because of “grit” or “scheme fit”. Should they take Charles Cross here? Yes. Yes they should. But do I trust them to do anything aside from this? No. Braxton Jones, thanks for being a scapegoat for me to make fun of the luckiest organization. I’m convinced they built the LOB by accident.
  10. New York Jets: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
    1. Jets need another CB and get lucky and get an elite one in Gardner. He will fit right into Saleh’s defense and will help anchor the secondary immediately.
  11. Washington Commanders(LMAO): Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
    1. Speaking of good scheme fits, Ron Rivera is going to love Kyle Hamilton. Landon Collins is gone, this is not only an upgrade but a sizable one. Combine concerns be damned. Hamilton is one of the 10 best players who only doesn’t get drafted there because of Seattle’s incompetence.
  12. Minnesota Vikings: Trent Mcduffie, CB, Washington
    1. Minnesota is in limbo. They have a phenomenal offense but an aging defense. They don’t need OL even though Cross is the best overall player on the board, they need defense badly. Mcduffie is my best remaining defensive player available, and Mcduffie can play in any scheme at every secondary position. I think he’s at best as a cover-2 esq safety. But he will be great anywhere you put him.
  13. Houston Texans: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
    1. Charles Cross is a fall candidate, and in the real draft is the only player aside from Kyle Hamilton that I’d actually move to trade up for. He’s that good. Charles Cross is a franchise LT. In Houston, he’d have to move to the right side, but I feel like that after a tough adjustment he’d be great there. Am I giving the Texans more credit than they deserve? Probably. But I can’t see Cross do anything.
  14. Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Davis, NT, Georgia
  15. Philadelphia Eagles: Garret Wilson, WR, Ohio State
    1. I have Chris Olave ahead of Wilson personally, but Wilson, but Wilson is a better fit with the Eagles. While Hurts is frankly hopeless as a QB, Devonta Smith is as good as advertised. Wilson in many ways is the perfect compliment. Another
  16. New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
    1. Olave is my #1 overall receiver, but I get why other teams view others better. Olave is the best route runner in the draft. The Saints will take their QB in two picks. Olave and Michael Thomas, if he ever comes back healthy, will be a great 1-2 punch to help him develop. Someone will always be open.
  17. Los Angeles Chargers: Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
    1. Without Jordan Davis here to ease the load the chargers have the luxury of going best player available. Jameson gives the chargers an element on defense they just don’t have yet. This makes their offense practically unstoppable as the only thing the Chargers would be missing at this point is a good tight end and a good compliment to Eckler. With a retooled defense, this is a great pick.
  18. Philadelphia Eagles: George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue
    1. The Eagles need another edge, and Karlaftis is a good fit for what they like to do on defense. Karlaftis is basically going to serve as an edge lynchpin for the next 5 years and be a good, consistent, long-term player for them.
  19. New Orleans Saints: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
    1. The QB with the most upside goes to a team that can properly support him? Maybe Willis can take the year to learn on the bench behind famous Jameis. He has the talent, what matters to him is the situation. Now that Sean Payton is gone will that situation be the Saints? Who knows, but they’re damned if they don’t go here.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
    1. Ridder isn’t as gifted as Willis but he actually has the upside of a franchise QB in my opinion. Ridder needs a year on the bench but Trubisky can ultimately provide some stop-gap usage here. Not the best QB draft, but the Steelers pretty much have no choice.
  21. New England Patriots: Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah
    1. This pick has Patriot written all over him. Lloyd is a high-level athlete with no real weaknesses in his game. Hightower just departed and while Lloyd isn’t as big, he can basically be a similar type of player who’s good at everything and starts for you for at least a decade.
  22. Green Bay Packers: Drake London, WR, USC
    1. London, to me, is highly dependent on where he ends up. What about if he ends up with an all-time great QB? London’s skillet will work well in that offense. Good run blocker, really smart route runner, physical, great hands, underrated separator. We know it’s coming. They need a WR. London will never be as good as Adams, but does he have the upside to be an immediate #1 WR? Yes. Yes he does.
  23. Arizona Cardinals: Boye Mafe, Edge, Minnesota
    1. The Cardinals are overly obsessed with swinging for the fences and taking the raw athlete with insane testing measurables. They’re also absolutely desperate for an edge defender. Too bad the defensive coaching is maybe the worst in the whole league. And that Kliff is inverse Greg Roman. Have fun going 11-6 and not winning shit again.
  24. Dallas Cowboys: Daxton Hill, CB/S, Michigan
    1. Dallas! Rejoice! You found the perfect defensive back for the Dan Quinn system. Your defense will likely be a force to be reckoned with again. Too bad your offense will likely regress horribly.
  25. Buffalo Bills: Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
    1. My current SB pick takes the perfect corner to compliment White. It was really the only remaining hole on their team. This move makes logical sense for multiple reasons. He can play immediately and the best part is he does not need to take on the best WR every week. A perfect counter to all the loading up the rest of the conference had to do.
  26. Tennessee Titans: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
    1. The Titans need a nasty offensive lineman to solidify their elite team. Raimann is a better player than Penning, and I will die on that hill. Raimann is really green but he can handle anything barring he receives proper coaching. The Titans coaching staff is really good. Too bad their QB will never let them win anything.
  27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Zion Johnson, G, Boston College
    1. My #1 overall interior offensive lineman goes to a team that just had Marpet retired. They’re basically going to replace a move with another lateral move.
  28. Green Bay Packers: David Ojabo, Edge, Michigan
    1. Ojabo is a no-brainer here. He doesn’t need to play immediately, but when they release Preston Smith next year, Ojabo can slide right in and give you immediate production. This is the perfect spot for him to go. Makes too much sense if we are being honest.
  29. Kansas City Chiefs: Christian Watson, WR, NDSU
    1. How do the Chiefs replace Tyreek Hill? The real answer is they don’t. But they can get another #1 WR here with Watson. He gives you elite speed, body control, great hands, and is a great run blocker. He has the upside to become one of the best WRs in the whole league. And in Andy Reid’s system, I think he gets there, close to immediately. The difference is Watson also has elite size and legit jump ball ability to compliment the flash. He’s going to be a headache to deal with.
  30. Kansas City Chiefs: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
    1. The Chiefs desperately need help in the secondary, their CB room is pretty much unsalvagable. Elam isn’t like the other members of his family, he actually can play. Good press-man corner with upside to become more.
  31. Cincinnati Bengals: Devonta Wyatt, DT, Georgia
    1. Wyatt going this late isn’t indicative of his talent, it’s more indicative of (potentially) his character. Wyatt has top-tier upside and next to DJ Reader and Trey Hendrickson this could cause a lot of problems. The best way to win is always with strong trench play, and if Cincinnati wants to go back to the super bowl they best invest
  32. Detroit Lions: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
    1. This might be a shot in the dark but Howell is another QB who, to me, needs a good situation around him. I like Dan Campbell, and Jared Goff is actually a good guy to learn behind. With this pick, you also want the fifth-year option. This QB class is awful, but Howell is a guy worth taking a shot on here.

Continued -- Round 2

Round 2
  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Penning, OT, Northwestern
    1. The most overrated player in the draft gets drafted by the biggest clown show in the NFL. Penning has the upside to be justifiable in round one, but he has penalty machine written all over him and severe balance issues. But he’s the big name, and that’s what Baalke cares about. Trevor Lawrence is doomed to bust and it’s not even his fault.
  2. Detroit Lions: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
    1. This is a good fit to go with a team that really could use the WR help. The Lions do have some pieces to work with but Burks would give them a WR that actually has the upside to be a #1. They don’t have that. I gave them a QB at 32, and that QB does need a good climate to grow in.
  3. New York Jets: Tyler Linderbuam, C, Iowa
    1. The Jets do it again. Drafting for value. They’re not desperate for center help, but in a zone-blocking scheme Linderbaum projects as an all-pro. He frankly could and should go a lot higher than this but this is how the draft played out thus far. The Jets get another steal.
  4. New York Giants: Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
    1. The Giants could use more help in the secondary and Pitre is arguably the smartest defensive back in the whole draft. At least someone will be smart on the giants defense. He also fits into Wink’s defense reasonably well. Someone has to get burned on zero blitzes on 4th and 12.
  5. Houston Texans: Kenyon Green, G, Texas A&M
    1. The Texans need to protect Davis Mills by any means necessary. Double dipping on the offensive line is not the sexiest thing in the world but it could be necessary. Kenyon Green is a good fit at G in any scheme.
  6. New York Jets: Arnold Ebiketie, Edge, Penn State
    1. The Jets finish their value hunting by taking another freak athlete on the defense. You missed out on the top 10, but Ebiketie goes to a defensive coach that will be able to maximize this talent here.
  7. Chicago Bears: George Pickens, WR, Georgia
    1. Chicago will overlook the character concerns. They desperately need an X-WR while Fields continues to develop. Pickens is a dude who is a badass and every team needs at least one of these guys.
  8. Seattle Seahawks: Michael Clemons, DE, Texas A&M
    1. Seattle will continue picking names out of their hat.
  9. Seattle Seahawks: Marcus Jones, CB, Houston
    1. See above. Enjoy your post Russell Wilson era Seahawks fans!
  10. Indianapolis Colts: Cameron Thomas, Edge, SDSU
    1. Thomas wins in the way NFL pass rushers win. He’s kind of a perfect fit in the scheme the Colts run, and I feel like that while he’s not the best athlete, he’s too smart of a player to be unproductive.
  11. Atlanta Falcons: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
    1. This is the worst overall roster in the NFL. But Corrall weirdly fits well into the Arthur Smith offense. Do I think he’s the true answer at QB? No. But I think that they need to address whatever they can at the QB position and figure out everything else later when they inevitably pick #1 overall next year.
  12. Cleveland Browns: Travis Jones, NT, Uconn
    1. The Browns’ run defense continues to be a pedestrian unit and that’s because their defensive line is among the worst in the league. Jones projects well as a long-term starting NT.
  13. Baltimore Ravens: Josh Paschal, Edge, Kentucky
  14. Minnesota Vikings: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
    1. Cine is also very scheme dependent, and playing for the Vikings will actually be good for him. He can handle a lot of the single high duties but can pretty much play in any coverage scheme. He’s got off the charts athleticism. His overall game projects very well.
  15. Washington Commanders(LMAO): Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
    1. Outside of Terry Mclaurin the WR depth chart is lacking. Having another great route runner on the squad will be advantageous for Carson Lentz(not a typo). I feel bad for everyone on the coaching staff and the players.
  16. Chicago Bears: Sean Rhyan, OG, UCLA
    1. They need the help on the interior OL, but my guess here is that they’ll try Rhyan out at T first. He’s not a fit for T in their scheme but that’s what the bears do nowadays. Should be a good G at least.
  17. New Orleans Saints: Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma
    1. The Saints are collectively one of the older teams in the league even without Brees. Several of their key contributors on defense are over the age of 30. Winfrey makes a ton of sense for them here. Nice 3T that can develop and given that he’s going to a good situation could turn into a really nice player
  18. Kansas City Chiefs: Drake Jackson, Edge, USC
    1. The chiefs need another edge defender who has a nice all-around game. Frank Clark has been awful for them and anything would help out. I hate helping the Chiefs but they need to remain competitive somehow.
  19. Philadelphia Eagles, Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
    1. I don’t like Dean for most teams but the Eagles are the exception. They could use a faster LB who does well. The Eagles still have a solid front seven in front of him that could help mitigate his flaws.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Quay Walker, LB, Georgia
    1. Devin Bush has (predictably on my end, was never a fan) been a bust. Quay Walker goes back to the old Steeler mold of a really strong LB who can enforce things in the middle. The Steelers don’t need much frankly and this would be a good piece.
  21. Green Bay Packers: John Metchie III, WR, Alabama
    1. Metchie has #1 WR upside but his injury does hurt his value. But Green Bay frankly won’t mind. He’s the ideal complement to London and can operate out the slot and turn into a nice weapon for them.
  22. New England Patriots: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
    1. The Patriots do not rebuild, they reload. Kyler Gordon is the CB version of jack of all trades, master of none. Which is the NFL is very valuable at that position. Perfect for Bill, since Kyler actually fits the mold for a CB he values.
  23. Arizona Cardinals: Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA
    1. Once again, all style, no substance. I’m personally not a fan, but here we are.
  24. Dallas Cowboys: Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
    1. Michah Parsons is the future of that defense but getting another great athlete who admittedly needs some (lots) of coaching isn’t a terrible move. Harris is kind of like Dean. I don’t trust him with most teams but with Dan Quinn I do. The LB corps their could use the help.
  25. Buffalo Bills: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
    1. The Bills were only missing a good RB and this pick
  26. Atlanta Falcons: Sky Moore, WR, Western Michigan
    1. Have you seen their WR corps? Need I say more. I’m not the biggest Sky Moore fan but that team will literally take whatever they can get at this point.
  27. Green Bay Packers: Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
    1. The Packers’ offense would highly benefit from having a really good blocking TE that can also get open and make plays for Aaron Rodgers. I see that immediately in McBride, who would’ve been a second round pick last year too.
  28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
    1. Oh look. The Buccs taking another really smart back end player on their defense. What ever should they do?
  29. San Francisco 49ers: Greg Dulcich, TE, UCLA
    1. See the Packers. Dulcich played in a run-heavy offense at UCLA and won’t be relied on nearly as much for blocking given that Kittle is there, but could be an asset in the passing game whenever Kittle inevitably misses time with injury.
  30. Kansas City Chiefs: Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State
    1. I don’t trust CEH to stay healthy and KC needs to get a stable ground game going if they want to return to the super bowl.
  31. Cincinatti Bengals: Cameron Jurgens, C, Nebraska
    1. I know they got upgrades but if an injury happens they’re screwed. This is actually a good fit for him because he fits the wide zone they like to run.
  32. Denver Broncos: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
    1. Patrick Surtain looks like a stud, but he could use another running mate. McCreary has 0 idea how to play zone coverage, but that’s totally fine. They will find a use for him, and can ease him into it. The Broncos are going to be a tough ticket.

Ravens Mock from Lost in Translation....

Ravens Mock

Round 1: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia
Ahh Davis. My favorite defensive prospect in the draft. What is there to be said about Davis that hasn’t. I just want to call everyone out. I’ve been on his hype train since September. Anyone who’s been in touch with me knows that. To call him just a NT is a flat out lie. He played NT cuz his skillset was the closest. But he does everything. To me there’s absolutely ZERO concerns for his pass rush. His bull rush is legit and at his size and with his athleticism and flexibility he will get to the QB. One man collapse the pocket. Davis has been my guy for months, I couldn’t make a mock where we didn’t take him first. At worst, he is going to force a lot of third and longs and let Oweh, Paschal, and Madubuike go to work. Did people forget that the secondary still has Marlon and Peters, and now Marcus Williams too? Good luck to everyone. I think Davis turns into the day 1 starter a 3T, but in actuality he can play literally everywhere(and did at GA).

Round 2: Josh Paschal, Edge, Kentucky
Versatile edge defender. Paschal was recently taken first round in Brett Kollman’s by us. I don’t think he’s that good but all the things in his most recent mock special hold true. He can do everything you ask of him. Really explosive athlete. Really smart player. In a lot of ways, he’s the perfect compliment to Odafe Oweh moving forward. Most of all, he’s tenacious and plays like a Raven. It’s going to be interesting to see how MM uses him moving forward. Not much to say on him, the tape speaks for itself.
Round Three: Phidarian Mathis, IDL, Alabama
For all the talk the Ravens fans are having about the secondary being a massive need, I encourage everyone to look at the depth chart and go straight to the defensive line. All three starters are super injury prone, Madubuike is good but unproven, and Washington is a depth player at best. We are in DESPERATE need of more DL, moreso than even the secondary(Washington will likely play slot CB, Stephens will play everywhere, and for depth purposes I will be selecting two more CBs). Mathis, to me, is the last good DT before you get into either the high ceiling low floor types, or the inverse. In many ways, he’s the most “Ravens” defensive player in this whole draft, and not just because of the Alabama connection. His two gapping abilities are truly fantastic, meaning that he’s going to contribute immediately in the run game, and he’s also not a liability as a pass rusher. He’s not a great athlete, meaning that he’s not likely to be a great pass rusher(hence why I have him going in
Round 3 as a likely fall candidate) but he’s more than good enough. Think A’Shawn Robinson. An oversized 5-technique who can ruin the day of a good offensive coordinator by forcing tons of third-and longs, while also being a competent pass rusher. He’s never going to be a sexy guy, but this is the kind of player who has a long career and makes a great living. At worst he’s going to play all three positions on the DL for us, and be a cock NT if pierce gets hurt again. Also, note to NFL offenses. Have fun dealing with 350 pound Jordan Davis and a 320 pound Mathis. With Paschal and Oweh on the edges. Oh, Madubuike is a freak too. Enjoy.
Round Three(Comp): Cade Otton. TE, Washington
I feel like Otton is a really good player that no one ever talks about. Otton is a great run blocker who actually has some good upside as a receiver. There’s not much else to say about him. I originally had us going Kyle Phillips here but I don’t think he falls to round three. Boyle needs to go, and Oliver sucks. I get it, Mark Andrews is the best TE in the league. He’s an absolute stud. But Otton allows this team to go back to being the power heavy team while having a quality receiving option.

Round Four: Damone Clark, ILB, LSU
Damone Clark getting injured sucks for him, but is a blessing in disguise for us. Clark is a very good, and very smart MIKE LB prospect who also happens to be a great athlete. He’s the perfect compliment for Patrick Queen and is getting drafted by the ideal situation. With Bynes coming back for another year, Clark can effectively red shirt with no difficulty and learn from two good players. With Queen continuing to come into his own, it makes too much sense.

Round Four: Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinatti
Aside from being named after a basketball legend. Coby Bryant is everything you want in a #2 outside CB. He’s smart, got solid instincts, is a good athlete, and is experienced in NFL type coverages. He can handle lots of cover 2. Which is what’s probably inevitable for us. I don’t see CB as the major need because both Brandon Stephens and A’darius Washington will be playing a lot of nickel for us, but Bryant gives us some much needed depth.
Round Four: Brian Robinson, RB, Alabama
Do we ever want to see old-ass Freeman or Bell again? No. Brian Robinson is a 3 down RB at the NFL level who isn’t sexy, but fits well for one reason and one reason alone. He’s a great pass protector on third downs and a competent, but not great receiver. As a runner? Great in-between the tackles guy who fits the gap scheme like a glove. I don’t need a great complimentary back. I need another hammer who’s going to tire defenses out by the end of the first half. Robinson is great at that.
Round Four: Jermaine Waller, CB, VT
Waller is interesting because he has a lot to work on but also has a lot to work with. Very raw in certain aspects of coverage but also good enough to not suck. Phantom IR candidate who has the chance to be a player 2-3 years from now.
Round Four: Austin Deculus, OT, LSU
Deculus is not sexy, but he’s the prototype backup OT. We've sorely missed that the past couple of seasons, and while you have Mekari and Ju’wan James as good backups, it wouldn’t hurt getting a dude like Deculus. While it seems crazy that we aren’t taking interior OL.. We have tons of players there. I am content with Mekari and his backup at C. I like Cleveland. Zeitler is a stud.

Round Six: Matt Araiza, P, SDSU
Sam Koch has sadly aged out of starting duties every day. Araiza is the punt god for a reason. Koch needs to retire. Sorry.

At worst he’s going to play all three positions on the DL for us, and be a [profanity deleted] NT if pierce gets hurt again.

Sorry.
