Saw a post on FB that said Jordan played in a more competitive time than LBJ.

Jordan played during a time of 8 expansion teams and when the strong teams of the 80's were declining due to age and retirements. Not really sure how you can say Jordan actually had it hard.

Its just pointless to compare the eras. Humans evolve, the way the game is played today a lot of players from the late 80s early 90s would just be a liability.

Interesting trade between the Lakers and Nets sending D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov for Brook Lopez and the 27th overall selection. Strongly hints that the Lakers are set on selecting a PG.

I think it's Ball personally. I like Fox and hate Lonzo('s Dad) but Ball fits in that offense like a glove. Question is, what are they gonna do for SG because Ball's shooting form IS LOL

Or could point to wanting to get Paul George next year. I don't think it's a secret that he wants to play in LA.

Lakers need to dump Dengs salary too. I thought Ball and DLo would work well but Ive been hearing about maturity problems this past season, maybe they can bring in PG and move him back to the 2 although hes capable of more at 3.

Also noticed Dwight got traded, hes a journeyman at this point and the destination doesn't matter, thats right the destination is like the points on Whos line is it anyway?

Both points work together so it's more of an and than an or. Trading away their starting PG is a bigger indication of them selecting one via the draft, and it doesn't exclude PG from the equation. They would've had a maximum of $24 million in cap space this season even with Mozgov and Deng on the roster had they declined two options on reserves, so they would've been able to afford the trade as is. Obviously they're clearing space for the potential of landing George, but you would assume that the new management would attempt to dump the woeful contracts regardless.

Clippers might be shopping Deandre, incoming dumpster fire?

Also hearing maybe Pornzingis and maybe Lee for Randle and Clarkson. Ball/George/Porn new big 3? Not a Laker fan but its looking like an interesting offseason

Butler for Lavine, Dunn and a first???shock value aside I think the Bulls are better balanced now. Wolves still won that trade

Obviously aside from the Timberwolves' fantastic trade, I was a fan of what Charlotte's done. Their trade for Dwight Howard made sense considering that In Kemba Walker's 6 seasons, they've never statistically out-rebounded opposing teams via numbers at the end of the year. The closest they go was an even break. They were the 2nd worst in Walker's first two seasons and then they were 19th, 14, 16th and then 20th last season. Unsurprising with nobody to hound the glass, having just one player average 9 rebounds or more. While Howard isn't what he once was, on paper, he could be their best rebounder in over the last half-decade, as he was the league's 5th best rebounder this year and the 4th best in the playoffs. Otherwise, I thought that they after landing Howard, their next best bet likely would've been to add a 3&D wing or a consistent shooter to take the pressure off of Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum shooting wise. I've always loved Batum's skill-set, but he's been maddeningly inconsistent in his jump shot over the past few years, and he hasn't been a consistent deep threat. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist playing nearly 30 minutes, and the addition of Howard, they add much-needed spacing with Malik Monk, arguably the best shooter in the draft; and he's also somebody who can score both off-the-dribble and as an off-the-ball shooter, meaning that Batum could be relied on more as a facilitator. Both of the additions have been sensible in my eyes.

I forgot Ball was a PG (thought he was a SG for some reason...), but I think Ball was the only good pick at 2 for the Lakers.

No worries there. Same here. I do like De'Aaron Fox, but if I was wagering on them taking Ball even before the trade.

OKC got the 3&D swingman theyve been looking for one since KD left. Two ball dominant guards they really needed someone who can catch and shoot
