Ravens Ring of Honor
Nope. Hero Ball is a function of Lamar not executing what he gets paid a gigantic sum of money to execute. Just do your job. When other people don't do their jobs, it'll be glaringly obvious to everybody else. When Lamar doesn't execute some of the fundamentals he's responsible for, that, too, is glaringly obvious to everybody else.Could some of that be attributed to the piss poor surrounding cast he has to play with, which in turn often translates into "hero ball"?
Some of the things I blamed him for on Sunday would have no rational reason whatsoever to fall under the category of "hero ball". These are first quarter plays, in a close game, where simply doing your job executes exactly what you want it to do.
And in the typical "chicken and the egg" scenario, perhaps if everybody, including Lamar, simply executed some of their fundamental tasks earlier in the game, there's no need for "hero ball". "Hero Ball" is a product of not executing prior to those events.
