The Running Game, The 4th Quarter and Everyone's Blood Pressure

The biggest feeling i get after this game is I no longer have any hope for a long playoff run , if we even make it.

I have zero expectations from this Ravens team of anything positive now going forward.

You're exactly right. I was complaining all day in the game thread that even when Lamar had time to throw, there was no one open. Lamar did absolutely nothing to cost us the game today. He tried his absolute best but he was working with pretty much nothing.
Why do Raven's receivers have so much trouble getting open? It seems to be a trademark. I was hoping Williams and Martin would make a difference especially where this is concerned.

Yes i know. But he will light our defense up .. Guaranteed.

So this is one of those statements where there is no basis for it but you are sure of it anyway. The defense has not been blown up in the past 3 games. They certainly had a terrible start but have been average to slightly above average since.

Meanwhile the Buccs have been useless for the past month. There is no sound reason to believe that the Buccs are suddenly going to be good when they have been terrible against worse defenses.

Bucs couldn’t stop the run today, so that is a good sign for next week.
The Browns were one of the worst in the NFL in run defense coming into this game and I didn't feel like the run game did as much as they should have today.

Hoping they do better this Thursday.

IMHO Lamar got us needed yards when we desperately needed it with his runs, and I was thankful. If he helps win games with his runs, I will take it. I was upset with him last week, but not this week.

I understand but it was Gus’ first game back. Unfortunately Drake took a step back from last week. Hill turned over the ball at a critical time, but I thought he needed more touches.

I'm beginning to think it's just the fact the diversity of personnel packages we use is just so small. It's hard to make it easy for your pass catchers when you're focused on making it easy for your running backs. It's weird. It's almost like GRo has tried to create an offense that can basically run any type of play from the really heavy personnel grouping. And the first few weeks that may have been pretty novel and was working really well, but it seems now teams are not so bothered by what we're doing.

The only way things change is of finally by years end when we can add back JK, Bowser, Ojabo, and Williams they get on a hot streak. But if nothing changes from today's general performance where the offense is so low octane and the defense capitulates every 4th quarter, you're a round 1 playoff exit.
Maybe Jackson to help us in passing game? Just a thought.

Lamar looks deflated at his post game interview. Free this man from GRo
Gotta stop blaming coaches, something’s not right with LJ and I’m not sure what it is. He wasn’t the best QB on the field today and it wasn’t even close. He needs to get his head out of his ass and play the way we know he can play.

As bad as this team can be, we had double digit leads in every game. The fourth quarter has been freaking horrible on both offense and defense.
