The Running Game, The 4th Quarter and Everyone's Blood Pressure

Entering the fourth quarter, Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and Mark Andrews have combined for four catches on just six targets.

Ravens still lead 20-13."

It's just simply coaching malpractice.

We struggled against a crappy Browns team. Our offense has been in a rut. Lamar is not happy. Do we really want to keep Roman and willing to lose Lamar?

Gotta stop blaming coaches, something’s not right with LJ and I’m not sure what it is. He wasn’t the best QB on the field today and it wasn’t even close. He needs to get his head out of his ass and play the way we know he can play.
i have to agree something has been off the last few games.

I really would like to keep Lamar, but that price tag though?

This is the first time this season that I have felt extremely negative about our prospects going forward. We just do not look good at all
See, what some will do will be to compare the Ravens to other teams and say, "They don't look that bad!" Me? I compare them to themselves and say, "They don't look that good!"

As bad as this team can be, we had double digit leads in every game. The fourth quarter has been freaking horrible on both offense and defense.

The stat that I saw earlier this week held up: the Ravens on full possessions in the 4th quarter have turnovers on almost half of them and they continued that trend today. At least it was not a bad INT today but Lamar has not been good in the 4th quarter all year and a 50m dollar QB I expect to look good in 4 quarters.

I've been saying the same thing to other people outside of PF.com for a few weeks now.

Regardless of how nice and respectful Lamar is, he is human! And for him to hear about how Bisciotti and EDC and the Coach etc, love him in public but to hear something different in private (during the negotiations of his contract) I believe has affected him in some manner. I believe Lamar is not playing as aggressively as he used to when he first came into the league because back then, he saw the game as fun. He was having fun! Now, after these negotiations, he realizes that it is actually a business! And the business side of this game can be ruthless and cutthroat and make you reevaluate some things.

This is one of those reasons that you need an agent because the point of negotiations is to justify why you do not just get a blank check which is going to involve saying the harsh truths that you do not want to hear. You have an agent to act as a go between because otherwise you are going to have a lot of hurt feelings.

Lamar might not like to hear that Mahomes and Allen did not get fully guaranteed deals and both are better QBs but that is something that comes up in negotiations which is again why you have an agent.

I think this team is shaping up to be a 9-8 or 8-9 team. Brady will light this defense up .It will be embarrasing

Lamar will have to bring his A game to beat the Bucs .
You must not be watching the same Brady.

This Bucs game worried me at the start of the season but they're playing worse ball than we are.

Something else that might come up is Roman sucks and the weapons he's given to work with.

Great point, I think this is a true statement.

I mean after Lamar signs he is not going to get better weapons. Right now he has a very good offensive line , the 2nd TE in the NFL (with probably the best overall TE room in the NFL), a good WR in Bateman and a passible one in Duv. That is about the best you can hope for when you are getting paid. We just watched the Chiefs have to trade Hill and the Packers trade Adams because the moment the money kicks in (it did for the Chiefs this year) you can no longer pay a premium for the surrounding talent.

They are probably telling Lamar that he has to learn to win with that level of talent because that is what you get when you sign the contract wherever it is.

Lamar has morphed into Vick 2.0 these last two years. Electrifying athletes, absolutely average arm talent and decision making.

I am worried about traveling down on the short weekthough.
Yea idk that team is hurting for quality WR and Oline play. Brady seems like a mess right now personally and professionally

The decision making is what gets me. It's like it peaked in 20 then has steadily declined. He might miss throws but the choices he made seemed sound. Can't exactly say that now.
So much of it is the scheme, this is so far from what made him great in college. Need to open things up, not compact the offense. Id still sign him long term if he is willing to come to terms with reality on the price.

Yeah, I think you are on the right track, and it’s the main reason why I think it’s a dumb idea to not have an agent handling his contract. Play football, concentrate on football and let someone else handle the business side of things. At the end of the day he’s getting paid to play football.
