It's probably worth calling out that in another part of the article, he specifically attributed that to the increased weight last year. Plays were definitely there to be made, but going through a long season with a completely different body than you're used to has to wear even more.
I'm glad he saw it and felt it too, because anyone with halfway decent ball knowledge could see he wasn't near as fast as he used to be.

I just saw a stat it was trying to make Lamar look bad against the chiefs 1-5… he AVERAGES 380 yards a game against them lol

For the most part he doesn't play well against them. It's OK to admit it. I'm not going to say he was awful in the opener all things considered. Definitely played better as the game progressed. Want to see how Bengals play them and how we look vs Vegas before I really start to judge this squad. I think we see the Chiefs run through teams and down the line like with Houston last year we realize they're better than we gave them credit for initially.

It's sad that it takes this long for people to see. Burrow's accuracy is incredible and he probably is the most accurate QB in the league. I don't know how anyone watches the TV and thinks Burrow is just as good as Mahomes. If given the top 3 WRs in the league, Burrow probably is the best QB in the league because he can distribute the ball like no other. But when it becomes off script and things become not perfect, he falters. Pat, Allen, and Lamar can make something out of absolutely nothing. We've watched the best of the Bengals, the front office is showing again that they are a poverty franchise who won't pay their key players. The roster has only declined from two years ago. I can't believe people will watch Lamar and say he isn't good when he wins 75% of games and Burrow is close to becoming a .500 QB.x.com

I may have posted this before, but I can't remember.
The 49ers inquired about Justin Jefferson before the season. Obviously a shoot your shot type deal that wasn't going to pan out ever, but they still at least asked.
It's maddening to me that the 49ers are going so balls to the wall to surround Purdy with the most abundant offensive talent in the league during his rookie contract while EDC had Lamar and was like, "Nah...."

I will admit that it’s a bit damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Think we’ve seen a good number of teams try to build these “super teams” for it to result in nothing but a major rebuild when the time comes. We’ve also seen teams that are right on the edge that are afraid to make a move because it risks getting to a rebuild instead of a retool.
I think that says that it’s really hard to win a Super Bowl and there is no sure fire answer. I do wish we’d have taken a big swing back in 2019 (the prime opportunity) or last year (cap issues held us back for sure) because those felt like the opportunities that got away.

I don't disagree with you, but don't you think there are teams like us who have to make due with less and still achieve. I don't really think that KC's talent is a lot better than ours, but they certainly seem to PERFORM better and look like they know what they're doing for most of the game. It seems like we're just rudderless a lot of the time. Not so much on DEF, but the OFF is very often inexplicably off; and this is year after year. They don't look polished and they look like they don't expect the poor outcomes of the plays they run. And it's been this way for some time. I don't feel like spending a ton on talent changes this. I'm not saying it's Lamar, I think it's how the coaching staff pursues game plans. I think they look at him as a luxury in running a style they want to run instead of designing a plan that his style suits.
