Lamar Jackson

I mean I know Survivor Series just past, but let's just have a tag-team elimination match: Team Flacco vs. Team Lamar. Losing team sees their QB cut immediately and never to return. Sounds like a reasonable deal?

Oh by the way, NO DISQUALIFICATIONS AND NO COUNTOUTS!
How do we determine a winning team?

Right. I asked a question. Where did I make a definitive statement that he has made zero progress (I notice how you didn't also quote the part that gave context to my comment where I said "ie, run an option, occasionally throw the ball - and not being particularly impressive when he does throw."
Where did I mock you guys at any point until shit was slung at me first?
Well that didn’t come off as a legitimate question in the context of it all, seemed like a “what have you done for me lately?” Kinda question where it’s inplied that there’s no positive answer. If I misunderstood that and it was genuinely a question, my bad.

And I left that out because it didn’t get to the point of his development, far too vague to only talk about gameplan, because the finer points have improved and he’s gotten sharper all around. I’ll break down what I’ve seen

-His release is far more consistent, he’s still got the whip motion and he occasionally will release high and earlier in his motion than he should, but overall it’s been WAY more consistent

-he is regularly holding up defenders with his eyes and patiently going through reads when in preseason he was rushing throws and locking in on guys

-he is standing strong in very tight pockets and comfortably making throws as if nobody is around, in preseason he was very quick to scramble at the sight of a tight pocket and was jumpy as hell, and as preseason went on he got more comfortable in the pocket, and at this point he is razor sharp in the pocket and shuffling around with great efficiency, there are shitloads of clips on Matt waldmans Twitter breaking down his pocket presence

Can you please go back to watching the Chiefs?
I have no idea who said what after all these deleted posts.
Thanks.
I can summarize for you quickly:

Joey: "Fly said this that and the other. What an idiot for not agreeing with me. Get him boys!"
Me: "Uh dude, no, I did not say that". <copy and pastes exact quote so everyone can see the shady bullshit going on>
Joey: ...crickets....

Quite boring, if you ask me. I was going to insert another Lamar Jackson / fellatio joke here, but wish to remain in the mods good graces, so instead, I'll leave you with this:

Ah dammit. Joey responded, and returned to being the reasonable dude I used to know. Ignore the above Joey!
Imma leave this up anyway, because it is important that all you Lamar fans read that link I posted.
Thank me later.

he's still quite inconsistent at looking off guys and still locks in but mostly when its a designed play with one option
ironically he's a much better qb the more reads he gets through and that includes accuracy as well as just making the right read - but he has shown the ability to read very quickly even in a cramped or collapsing pocket

the whippy arm is just how his release has always been and always will be - they were always going to rebuild the way he generates power through his hips and legs as well as his footwork but the whippy arm isnt a problem because it's still a fast motion that creates the right kind of velocity - the issue is when he gets out of rhythm and starts consistently throwing out of his normal mechanics because of rush lanes or whatever and then his release falls apart a bit - albeit ive been encouraged by the fact that his base doesnt seem to get narrow when under pressure unless he hasnt got room to step into the throw

for me the way he's reading the field has been the biggest improvement since the bills game - he still had some frustrating misreads @ falcons where he missed the seam coming open 4 times at least for big gainers and that was frustrating because in previous weeks and games he's been able to pick up on things he's missed or mistimed in a prior series and instantly improved it next time he sees the same thing (albeit sometimes that's got to be on the coaches for noticing it in real time and showing him on the sideline what he's missed etc. and maybe the coaches never saw those seams in real time)
