Lamar Jackson

Reality check. The Ravens offensive performance against the Raiders was the second worst compared to the Raiders other opponents. Without the scores on Defense and special teams, the Ravens would have had their hands full with one of the worst Defenses in the league.
One thing that the Ravens did well, was the second half adjustment to run more and throw less. It ate up clock, and they won time of possession, keeping the Raiders offense off the field.
Unfortunately, this is not sustainable long term with keeping Lamar healthy.

but you cant take those scores out of account - we took 2 possessions away from our own offence with those scores... likewise we didnt need to get after it in the 2nd half

it's also not true in yardage terms either - the offensive day was fairly middle of the road compared to every other game the raiders played which given the way we limited possessions in the 2nd half is fairly impressive tbh

and this is 100% sustainable - look at the runs vs the raiders (especially when compared to vs the bengals) - how many hits did lamar take? as far as i can recall he got tackled once, slipped once or twice (and avoided the hit) and got out of bounds on every single other run... that's incredibly sustainable

He is also doing remarkable job of holding the ball pre run/handoff, so D is likely to react late - takes that extra bit of time (sometimes more than a bit) to figure out who has the damn ball.

a little too long once a game it seems lol - sometimes he likes to read so long it causes the fumble in the backfield - we've had the ball hit the floor a few too many times on the ball transfer and inevitably we wont continue to recover them all so that's gotta be cleaned up - at a certain point even if the play looks dead you've just got to leave the ball in there and live to fight another down

Rodgers got hit about 8 times more passing last night.

That's on RB :oP

If you were to read the game thread Ravens defense is shit and is going to have 50 hing on them by Falcons (an actual prediction).
Our defense has its moments, and that’s expected in an nfl built to break defense, which adds even more to my point, keeping those high flying offenses off the field is literally the biggest defensive advantage you can find, and if you have a high end defense in this era then they still need to be given advantages to overcome the rulebook.

and also the fact that schematically offensive coaches are literally years ahead of defensive coaches - there's no defensive innovators in the game at the moment

look at how much his poise and pocket movement improved just from the bengals game to the raiders game...
lamar is a sponge who seems to intuitively and quickly understand things and how to change
He’s going to be fun to watch in the upcoming seasons. I’d love to know who the general manager/s said he couldn’t play qb. Maybe one of them was a coach named Marvin Lewis.

While exaggerating a bit his point is valid. The Raiders defense ranks near the bottom giving up about 30 points a game, our offense scored 17.
I know you keep getting pissed because Flacco keeps getting brought up but I can’t help but find this hilarious.

When we scored 9 points against the Browns you make up excuses. When we score 17 against the raiders all you do is complain about only scoring 17. Very hypocritical.

Thats why I was impressed with his pro day interview with Mayock. Mayock asked him which route he targets if he sees cover one and lamar instantly called the right protection and route. They went on with further questions and Lamar could answer all of them in a heart beat.

Oh, did you not hear? That one was on Crabtree for dropping a TD pass.
And the offense actually scored zero, not 9.

Crabtree had a goddamn horrible game that week, but joe was basically a head scratcher for 4 quarters as well
Everybody was awful but if the offense cannot score, who do you blame first? Nature of the position.
The issue is perpetual double standard for Flacco in Tank's posts.

"But muh wonderlic score...."

Also find it funny that no is drawing the connections from our games with the Saints and Steelers to this game with how the Raiders defense played.
