Lamar Jackson

is there any real benefit for the Ravens signing Lamar to a short term deal rather than a long one?

for the ravens?
not really

but vs letting him play on the tag 2 years in a row and deferring future contract talks into the future then it's preferable to that if that's what it comes down to

lol - "league sources also indicated the Ravens have never presented an offer in the stratosphere of the $40M-$45M per year that other top young QBs have secured, instead focusing on long-term deals (five years or more) closer to $35M a year"

league sources lol... which league sources are gonna have any info on the deal? unless it's come from the ravens building or lamar's camp then it's complete conjecture

oh and as i read down the article look who the only real source is (unnamed) - an agent lol

the only honest guy was the agent who said he'd actually played this well so far

but everything else here is complete guess-work

Everyone has league sources nowadays lolol

Maybe Lamar is doing what I do in my fantasy leagues when someone send me a ridiculous / lowball offer. No counter, just leave their ass on read. Haha

Man, watching highlights from Lamar’s pro day and him throwing at the combine, he’s progressed so much as a passer and still has room to get better

so much of that is that they make everyone pass out of under center for some reason so his footwork was a mess (especially at the combine)

but yeah his mechanics are so much cleaner - mostly his feet and base

JLC was taking a dump and out came this outrageous notion that the Ravens had offered him 35M/yr. Let's assume for a minute that the Ravens are a cheap ass franchise. Even then, they wouldn't make an offer as insanely low as that for a league MVP that is also one of the winningest QBs in the league. So, the only conclusion to draw from this article is JLC is either grossly misinformed or he pulled it out while taking a nasty dump. I think the latter is more likely because this article stinks to high heavens.

it's never worth reading anything from J..

Just seen a clip from the shop where lamar calls out one of the plays thats really 2 plays in 1 cause the 2nd half of the play is only ran if he sees the defense differently…. Anyway, i wonder how often we do that? and do we do it with certain routed too? Like giving andrews or hollywood option routes mid play

most plays will have a check
and we know that andrews and hollywood have licence to option even on non-option routes on some plays

what i found most interesting was that he was calling his own plays the first drive vs miami in week 1 2019 because the mics cut out

I was surprised when I heard that too. Pretty cool though because he wasn't flustered.

12 min video of Lamar content.

Today’s a good day.

I love love love this

Also love that Lamar chose to throw into the wind (presumably to really challenge the ability to drive the back outside)

Looks like they’re really trying to focus on his lower half and especially not letting him swing his hips even when on the run - and also focusing on resetting his feet and hips on those quick outside throws to generate velocity and maintain accuracy like on the inside

Really really encouraging

Also cool to see binjimen victor working with him in seemingly every video he puts out

Best program I've watched in months! Watched it back to back and still want more! Our QB1's work ethic and dedication to football are unmatched in players of this era. He has old school work ethic with otherworldly talents! Yet, these morons across the punditry still doubt him and crap on his greatness.

Just watched most of the 12 min vid with lamar throwing and i instantly noticed that he seems more accurate throwing to his left.. makes sense now when be threw that crazy ass td pass hollywood while rolling to his left..

So, with Rodgers new deal, Lamar Jackson has primed himself for a brand new multi-year mega deal. I expect him to sign no more than a 3-4 yr deal, all guaranteed with an average between 45-50M. I expect either a 3 yr -141M deal or a 4 yr - 188M deal, with 141M guaranteed.

EDC can keep playing the chicken game like they did with Flacco. But the longer it goes, the more expensive it’s gonna get.
