I want him to get the most money out of us as possible. Idgaf it bankrupted the team lol… what would suck is if he gets injured and people start blaming it on “ if he had an agent” and all the other dumb shit instead of actually looking at it for what he truly was trying to do..
Well I mean that's the risk. If he gets injured, his value goes down, especially if its a serious injury.
I don't have a problem with any of his decisions, as long as he can live with them. If he plays great and wins a SB, his value goes up (though I'd argue not really a ton). If he gets hurt or doesn't play great, his value goes down.
If I were him, I'm trying to get max guaranteed value as soon as I can. I think the risk is higher than the rewards in this case.
If he plays at exactly the same level he's been at the last couple years, and the Ravens basically are a one and done team in the playoffs or don't grow there, I'm not sure his value is any more or less than it already was. I don't think the cap going up necessarily means that's he's all of the sudden going to get Mahomes money or something absurd.
The only issue I would potentially have in a year or two is the lack of understanding of how a franchise cap impact impacts the team from a cap perspective, as opposed to a long term deal. He can make the same amount of money, or more money, not being on the tag. He can make that decision if he wants to, but then he'll just get the same justifiable criticism that Aaron Rodgers does, i.e. "I don't have enough talent or I'm unhappy with how the FO addresses the team needs", while remaining largely inflexible to do their part.
Not saying he'll go that route, but if he does, it would be incredibly hypocritical.
