Lamar Jackson

Anyone else remember that time Rivers played on a torn MCL and ACL in the playoffs. Fun times, different game now. Although I do wonder if Lamar had signed a contract already if he would be out there Sunday
I'm not sure it matters. If you've already gotten paid, why are you going to put yourself through pain, when you can just get paid the same to not play?
Though technically most of these playoff games are sort of "free" for the players anyway.

Idk if it’s the way Harbs is handling this situation but it just seems weird…
Definitely just feels like something is off. I feel like it's not hard to appease the masses by saying something like "He hurt his knee and is going to miss some time. We're not sure how long but we look forward to his eventual return." Straight and to the point. Doesn't give a timeline. Doesn't expose the injury. Gives the media and fans some semblance of an answer without having to own up if you're wrong. His refusal to give anything other than "I don't know" just feels weird. And we know it's coming from PR. So to me, a really botched PR job.

I think the most frustrating thing about the way Harbaugh is handling this is that he put all of this on himself and is now deflecting blame. I generally think the media is worthless with their speculation and all of that, but it's their job to go out there and ask these questions. And then Harbaugh gets pissed day after day when he gets asked the same questions. If you said more than "I don't know" you probably wouldn't be prodded every time you step to the podium. Again, it may not be him directly and could definitely be PR in his ear, but it just feels like none of this had to come to this point.

In this league, everybody is pretty much banged up, hurt,” veteran wideout Sammy Watkins said Wednesday in a quiet corner of Baltimore’s locker room. “I don’t want to speak for him and his situation and whatever he’s going through with the contracts. I don’t know what world he’s in. But for me, you got a chance to do something special. We all know with Lamar Jackson out there, this team is really freaking good, and special things can happen. He can will this team to a Super Bowl. I don’t think he’s thinking about it that way. …

“But he’s got an opportunity to win a Super Bowl. I hope he hobbles back out there. … Put him out for the pass plays, and don’t run him at all. But you never know. That could be wrong. I’m being very selfish right now, just to want him to be out on the field. But, man, what a great thing it would be to see [No.] 8 touch the field this Sunday, and we go out there and blow them out. But that’s for Lamar and everybody else to figure out. Hope miraculously something happens, somebody reach out to him, whether it’s a coach or somebody, and he decides to play. But that’s a question if he’s healthy or he’s not. I don’t know. I haven’t been watching him.”

I agree there is something awry with the whole darn situation. If Harbs is doing this shit voluntarily or in concert with EDC but Steve B. doesn't know anything about it, both Harbs and EDC are likely gone if Lamar leaves because of them.

I feel like this situation will ultimately end in a completely torn apart locker room and organization. Please remember that we are almost all Ravens fans. We could also easily be torn apart as a forum with this situation depending on how it is ultimately resolved if we let it.

I will say, all of this is giving Lamar the ultimate leverage right now. Regardless of whatever theories are out there and which one you side with, it behooves the Ravens organization to try to get this done (or move on if you're on that train) ASAP so this isn't hanging over everyone's heads again next season, but at an inflated rate on a franchise tag. I still don't think any of this is doom and gloom, but I'll continue to maintain that there are some differences of opinion on each respective side, and they need to get that shit ironed out before it does become too much.

Yea I mean some are trying to downplay Sammy’s comments. I will say it’s ironic that this message is coming from him, he’s always injured. But he can’t be the only player who feels Lamar has put his contract over the team
