Lamar Jackson

Y’all think Houston would give us 2 and 12 + more for Lamar?

Personally, I'd rather see us nut up and pay the price. Not saying it needs to be fully guaranteed but I'd be shocked if there's a number out there that doesn't get this done. If it backfires, oh well. We hitched our wagon to one of the most dynamic players ever and failed trying to capitalize on that. Would much rather see us do that than go through the QB turmoil we had in the early 2000s again. And if it works, then great, that's exactly what we wanted.
there needs to be another emoji button for this, because I couldn't agree more.

We can’t trade Lamar and have a competitive team at the same time.*

We don’t know that. With the talent level on defense they could easily carry a rookie or gap QB

Not that I want this to be the outcome but I agree. Especially if we trade Lamar for a haul and properly using the capital and cap space
I think we definitely are able to compete without Lamar. Sad as I would be, if the two sides can't get stuff straight then the world continues to revolve. I've been blown away with what EDC has been able to do while Lamar is here and I figure that he'd find a QB who can manage what assets we have. I think the mere addition of RS to the DEF has solidified a decent DEF into a very good one. Not anything like perhaps the 2000 team but that was a generational kind of thing that happened.

I've been ok with whatever happens with Lamar longer than most, I think. If we trade he we get a haul. If we keep him we get to pay the tag. If we pay the premium of the tag for him next year, I am OK, but I want Roman out first and the JH quick on his heels for just a new direction/mission statement like we did with Billick. And how he has talked his way into trouble with this whole injury thing with Lamar solidifies my stance, that coaches are expendable. Send those two packing, give Lamar a real OFF and see how the dust settles. If he complains or isn't really negotiating for a long-term deal before franchising him, send him packing too.

No, they can't! This isn't the Raven's defense of 2000; it's 2022. That Ravens defense from 22 years ago, 22 years ago man; was one of a kind!

To my knowledge, they didn't blow double-digit leads or allow teams to run the ball on them. Ray Lewis even said:

"I told Shannon Sharpe and I told Jamal Lewis: Give us 10 points and the game is over," Lewis said. "That's not boasting. If you give us 10 points, game over. You go down against our defense, you're in a whole lot of trouble. We've dominated people like that all year. And they didn't score on us. Make sure you quote that. They didn't score on our defense."

Surely, (as decent as this present Ravens defense has played at times) you don't believe that this present defense is saying, "If you give us 10 points, game over" to this present Ravens offense; do you? Cause ain't no way in hell am I thinking that!

I don’t think we need a generational type defense to be successful without Lamar. With an offense that puts up 24-30 points a game behind a strong run game and an efficient pass game I believe this defense could take us far.
Hell another reliable CB (if MP can’t return to form) and this defense is easily top 5. If we can get a stud pass rusher on top of that, solve the end of half/game issue then this defense would absolutely carry a rookie QB.

When has this Raven's offense demonstrated that they are capable of putting up 24-30 points a game?

Sure we can. You just can't get Lamar proven shiny new toys when he's on the tag.
There's a ton of scenarios where you tag him and then the roster looks a lot like it looked this year next year. Like probably 85-90% of the important players are back. Just have less ability to add weapons or upgrades.

I'd prefer the organization go tha tag route. With new "toys" and hopefully a new OC if Lamar struggles in the passing game trade him after next season.

Lol nothing wrong with it.. my brother left handed and we always talk shit about it just for fun… at same time though, i dnt ever remember there being a good left handed qb.
Really? How about Steve Young, Kenny Stabler, and Michael Vick?

Stabler and Young are the only 2 lefties to ever win the SB.
