The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Jags edition

Cause he a regular human just like us.. wealthy and talented doesnt change anything. Not like he did a robbery. He simply responded to someone that he was annoyed with.
Annoyed? lol. Think of it this way……What if you stood up in the middle of a restaurant full of people, including kids and yelled eat dick. Would that be OK? Lamar has over a million followers, he yelled that in a BIG restaurant. Classless and out of character for a classy dude.

I don’t think y’all get it…

We ran a screen on 2nd and 14. To Ricard.

Who the fuck does Roman think Ricard is? Tyreek Hill?

This is where I'm at with Roman, he will produce a decent O and at times a real good one but this team will never reach its full potential with him. He does a lot of head scratching shiz. I, like many others want to see Lamar play under another coordinator to see if it's GRo holding him back or Lamar isn't that great.

id agree but i just dont think we have the personnel to change what we're doing

i think it's not a Roman thing at all - when we had a bunch of WRs last year (maybe the best WR group we've ever hard... or certainly up there when they were all playing) we played a bunch of 11 personnel and 12 personnel and 21 personnel and even 01 personnel at times with the poor RBs we had trotting out last year... he's playing the guys who are the best guys - it just happens that one of our best players on offence right now (and it's sad that this is the case but it is) is Ricard to he's going to play a bunch - id much rather we were able to substitute him more especially in situations where we want to be explosive passing the ball... but who are we taking him off the field for now that Bateman's gone for the year?
Roman played extremely high amounts of two wide receiver and single receiver sets last year before Lamar went down. He only really changed it up when Lamar went down, which was always a gripe I had.

Re Lamar's tweet - I completely share the sentiment of it. Should Lamar have done it? The answer is probably no but not because he "should be a role model for all the young fans" and all that drivel. He shouldn't have done it because of all the MFs at media who are just waiting for something like this and that's going to boil my blood several times over.

Fuck them dick eating nerds, Lamar.
I will always struggle with the idea of athletes being role models for the kids. They didn't *ask* to be role models. They're highly paid athletes playing a game because they're that good. They owe NOTHING to your kids.

tough to do that with the jags having 2 timeouts and the 2 minute warning and the ravens wouldnt have had the ability to get a new set of downs (without a penalty) - think the lowest we can get the clock in this scenario is just under a minute and force them to use both their timeouts...

i'd agree with the downing it if a 1st down allows us to run the clock out but it doesnt in this scenario
didn't they use their last timeout by that point. If that's the case than i am absolutely wrong. I thought they had used the timeout prior to our touchdown.

Ok I swear I watched a different game then a lot of yall. Please chime in on where you disagree. To not make things too long, this will just regard the offense, more posts to come.

Overall sentiment:

Not even on phase of the team played a clean game and that's responsible for the loss.

Offense:

Many say LJ had a bad game. I literally couldn't disagree more. I think Lamar largely only had 2 plays to the detriment of the team. Imo the overthrow to DRob and the horrendous 4th down sneak. Otherwise the dude constantly made something out of nothing, ran all over the Jags, and threw legitimately 3 TDs that were just simply dropped.

DRob with a dropped TD pass, no excuse.
Oliver with a dropped TD pass, no excuse. Today he showed on multiple occasions that he has a tendency to jump too early and it fucks everything up.
Andrews with a dropped TD pass, no excuse. Horrible drop here.

Gus with an untimely fumble loss.

Otherwise the offense was fine IN SPITE of having one of the weakest skill position groups in the league. How can anyone say anything other than you're a fucking professional athlete, catch the god damn ball when you're unimpeded, wide open in the endzone. This is a non story here today if the offense makes the simplest of catches. Does Lamar need to have better consistency on deep balls, hell yeah. Do we need to stop fumbling in the 4th quarter, hell yeah. But today, oh boy today the team let Lamar down big time. He's the only reason that game was even close. If they had helped him it would have been a blowout.

I'm known to be super high on Lamar, so I didn't want to come out and say this, but I didn't feel Lamar was nearly as bad as people wanna make it out to be.

Really, it's people going, "Well, he had these three throws!"

If all he had was three bad throws to his name on the day, I will take that. But how many times did you see a play where you just went, "Only Lamar could do that."

Defense:

The first thing I'll say is just wtf? This offense we were going up against has legitimately a young, mediocre but ascending QB, one good running back, and a fringe WR1/2. Outside of that it's fringe replacement level guys.

The defense was totally up down in a way that makes no sense. It's hard to even rationalize.

1st quarter, dominant play.
2nd quarter, we start letting screens destroy us and the run defense goes out the window.
3rd quarter, good adjustments and play
4th quarter, the years 4th 2 score blown lead for the loss.

This team really went out there and gave up 18 points in the 4th. When anything mattered, like on 4th down and longs, we just capitulated. When all we had to do was not give up a TD, we capitulated. And we did this TWICE. When all we had to do was just not give up a 2 point conversion, we capitulated.

Ultimately this defense is soft as shit. And it has so many parallel analogies to how the offense just blew it. Like the offense dropping TD passes, every time this team got a 1st down sack they just immediately gave up a 25 yard play the very next down. Every time they were in 3rd or 4th and long when it mattered we gave it up. If the defense makes even just one more play on any of about 5 occasions, we don't lose this game.

Pass rush was on the outside was nonexistent.
Oweh is ass. You cant do nothing for an entire season buddy.
Marcus had his worst game as a Raven
Chuck was ass
Geno played slow today
Run defense gave up critical plays to backups.

Outside of Broderick Washington and Marlon Humphrey who were excellent, the defense just didn't show up. Like the offense, if they make even one of many plays, we don't lose this game.

This one frustrates me to no end though because I feel like there were coaching issues that bled into the defensive issues. Ffs why is Stephens matched up against the one WR who caught all their passes on the goal line stand? Why couldn't we find a way to help out Peters when we saw what was happening? Why did we just give them free access to screens constantly? You mean to tell me Ojabo has had 3 whole weeks of being a full participant but he was what's his fuck PS LB who won't be in the NFL next year gets the nod instead? WTF at so many levels on this side of the ball.

ill never stand up and yell anything at anyone. either we gonna handle the matter at hand however you wanna do it or there is no problem.. i dnt do the yelling and arguing, thats for women. He a classy dude but regardless of how classy someone is….if you keep pushing and pushing , they eventually gonna push you back and thats what lamar did. Our team know lamar is a respectful dude, today was just the day he got tired of us lmao

Agreed entirely. And honestly I only have a problem with one throw. And the answer to how many plays do I say only Lamar could do that, is countless.

Special teams:

We just sucked on STs today. Which is honestly inexcusable.

Stout just didn't pin them once. Plain and simple.

Duv had 2 punts where one got us pinned on the goal line and the other was one inch away from having us pinned a second time. I know they were difficult situations but the raw fact of the matter is we got out punted today and it mattered.

Duv had one of the worst KRs of his career when it really mattered today. Just sucked yet again in the field position game.

Tucker. Man oh man do Iove this guy. He's just legitimately the best. We asked him to do the impossible to win us the game and he nearly did it. But it's funny, every unto, offense, defense, and STs all had a chance to win the game and they all came up short. I absolve Tucker entirely but it's just funny, the Ravens didn't have a single unit seize their opportunity to win the game.

Hard to understand why a wealthy, talented athlete would give a shit what some random guy would say.
Fresh off the frustrations of that loss to the Jaguars and then you read that. I'm 57 yrs old ( a young 57 lol) so I don't live on social media as these young cats do in this generation. So, Lamar snapped! He couldn't take it anymore and unleashed his feelings on that random. It happens.
