2023 WR Thread

I don't know what others think but I think this is actually a really deep WR class that lacks ELITE talent at the top. But every year some WR who's drafted in the second round competes or blows away the 1st rounders. WR is an interesting position and in this draft in particular, I'd love to be able to double dip on day 1 and 2. But I don't see there being any chance of that.

Going to add one more and then this is my cutoff for who I'd take RD1.

1) Addison
2) Flowers
3) JSN
4) Tillman
5) Johnston

that may have been true in 2019, but when has that happened since then that a 2nd rounder has been up there with those 1st round picks?
Tee Higgins in 2020 maybe... but tbf he was the 33rd pick and it's not like he blew them all away... Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk were in that class

i will say that this class reminds me of 2019 more than other recent classes - and i would not be surprised if a day 2 guy from this class came out on top in the end... mostly because there's not many sure fire elite talents (as you say)

Right I was totally thinking of 2019 and Higgins. But I will give in to your point of him being 33.

In 21 and 22 less so

i mean if you add josh downs to that list then you've got my top 6
just got early 2s on Downs, Tillman and Johnston not 1s
I want to like Downs so bad, but I feel like I can't trust him at all. Sell me on him.

What I see is a ton of great stuff from him, but my big big big fears are, I didn't ever see him do anything but run like crazy with these extreme cushions the DBs were giving him. I have no idea how he'll be able to do against even average physicality corner in the NFL. And 2) he's just so small. Like smaller than Hollywood small.

I wouldn't be able to draft Downs RD1 I don't think. Now it seems you also have him RD2 as well. But I'd be so anxious if my 1 WR we took from the draft was Downs.

Go watch him. He's doesn't have elite speed, but he's big, smooth, good hands, totally out muscles people, good at the catch point, deep threat, not inept after the catch, showed he can beat press, etc.

His press technique needs some work but he’s 100% got the physicality, power and explosion to become very good at press

Bigger than Hollywood I think - he’s also going to be a slot only type guy unlike Hollywood - gonna have to scheme him to space with motion or bunches or in the slot more generally

But he’s got the kinds of movement skills that do funny things to DBs- there’s a reason he had such massive cushions - super fluid athlete with some route nuance

And it helps that he’s got good hands too

I think Monken would like to have him

Thinking Jalin Hyatt and maybe Tyler Scott could combine test themselves into the 1st RF where they have no business being selected.

In general I think WRs are going to be over drafted this year.
