2023 Baltimore Orioles

Huge sweep. And the Astros put a hurt on the Texas - who's the one team I hope we completely avoid if they make the Playoffs. Altho, now I think Houston needs to be avoided too.
 
Orioles off today, Rays lose and the lead in the AL East grows to 4 games ahead of a weekend series in Boston. I'm just glad the Orioles are done playing on the West Coast. If we can keep the 4 game lead heading into the home series against Tampa, O's have a shot at clinching the division early at the end of the season.

We got one road series against the Astros left, and it's right after the four game home stand against Tampa. That's going to be a test to see where this young team is as the playoffs near and the O's look to lock up the first seed and home field through the playoffs.
 
I'm really getting a feeling the Orioles are going to win it all this year. This team is fun to watch, and this team is set up like the Astros to win multiple World Series. Elias has done a terrific job building the farm system up, the on field product is great and O's are set for the next decade or so.
 
Thankfully they got the extra run otherwise we would be in Extra Innings right now. Time for another sweep tomorrow.

 
Whatta crazy game. Give up 23 hits, a couple of errors and 12 runs and win. Not a pretty performance.

Man it's great to see Jorge back. I have a good feeling about him.
 
A little concerning that we threw in a couple of clunkers, but it was at the end of a arduous road trip.
 
Cardinals series didn't go as planned but seemingly NL teams seem to be a struggle for the O's. Losing Bautista and now Mountcastle is going to hurt, hope both will be ready by the playoffs. Regroup and get ready for the most important 4 game series of the whole season.

This necessarily won't determine who wins the AL East this weekend, but a series win against the Rays gives the O's an advantage in any tiebreaker scenario against the Rays.
 
A split isn't bad. Seems like they're pushing a little, but the Cards pitching the last two games was pretty damn good. As was ours but for a couple mistakes.

This Tampa series is crunch time. Going Friday night with the family. My kids have never been to such a big event. Gonna be like the Playoffs. It's going to be exciting for them - for all of us. Haven been to a game in a while. The wife just randomly picked this one and then two weeks later it was announced as the Adam Jones game and she also didn't realize it was the Rays. lol. Luck strikes the unaware. lol
 
I can guarantee we will win a playoff game or series in the 9th inning by making one of these outfield catches.

 
Much like the Ravens, the injuries happen at the worst time. Bautista and no Mountcastle. It shows, no offense tonight what so ever. Sorry Adam, wish the team played better on your big homecoming.
 
They look flat. Flaherty was great thru 3 then just deflated. Batting has been terrible. Overly aggressive and swinging for the fences. No patience. BUT the Rays have great pitching, so this is a bad intersection.
 
Right now we're in a mini slump but we knew this wasnt going to be a cake walk. Congrats to Kjerstad for his 1st hit. A home run!!
