Never take your eye off them sneaky Steelers. I had a nightmare the other night that they signed Lamar. Lol. How f’d up would that be?

even crazier...
all the teams around the ravens on that chart have been picking way higher than the ravens...

the other thing is that even some of our notable 1st round busts in those years have carved out some sort of career elsewhere (rather than vanishing off the face of the earth like many other teams busts)

Hurst is getting 2nd contracts
Perriman's still just about in the league after 8 years
Elam is the only one who disappeared but he at least made it to year 3 and started for a while (albeit not well)

Yeah if we could hit a little bit better in the later rounds... We'd be golden

late rounds we're fine
some good years, some bad years

day 2 has been the problem - too many guys over the past decade or so who've not become more than role players (if that)

ill ignore 2022 because we'll see with Ojabo and Jones and 2021 is a make or break year for the day 2 guys - Cleveland could finally become a starter, but if he doesnt then he's been a complete waste, Stephens has been a versatile role player in the secondary but more of a spot starter

but putting rudimentary grades on everyone else (Amazing, great, good, ok, bad, terrible)

2020: JK good, Madubuike good, Harrison bad, Duvernay ok, Phillips not even still on the roster

2019: Jaylon (RIP) bad, Miles bad

2018: Orlando great, Mandrews amazing

2017: Tyus good (but took a while), Wormley ok, Tim Williams terrible

2016: Correa bad, Kaufusi terrible

2015: Maxx ok, Davis bad

2014: Jernigan ok, Brooks bad, gillmore bad

2013: Brown bad, Williams good

2012: Upshaw good, Osemele great, Pierce ok

2011: Torrey good, Reid ok

not a lot of good+ grades there lol

9 guys out of 26 (34%) being worthy starters or difference makers - if that was only R3 then that would be an ok set of outcomes but we've had some rough times with 2nd rounders and outside of 2018, haven't had a ton of production from our 3rd rounders in quite a while

outside of orlando and mark andrews, madubuike's been our best 3rd round pick since brandon williams without a doubt
JK's probably been our best 2nd round pick since Kelechi Osemele

hopefully Ojabo and Jones and Cleveland (and Stephens) start helping us change some of those numbers... as well as whoever we pick this year on day 2
