The 2023 Offseason Thread

It's gonna be so fun to see Zay in a real game even if it's only preseason. I googled basically all the top drafted rookie wideouts and they are all supposedly looking great.

Maybe this was a better class than advertised. Maybe it's really easy for WRs to look good in camp.

Can't wait to see him against the Eagles

Trust me I'm excited for Zay. But the amount of hype he's getting for beating CBs in one on ones is ridiculous. And it's so fucking stupid. One on ones are not representative of anything. Remember when fucking Bailey Gaither torched Hamilton in a one on one? That guy is not in the league and Hamilton was PFFs number 1 safetyast year. This hype is realistically just setting everyone up for disappointment.

I think Zay probably has like 650 receiving yards this year. Not the 1000+ hype nonsense you keep seeing.

I don't trust any reports about camps from the Ravems writers. Peter King said Zay was cooking and I'll give that a kittle more weight.

If we try to convert him to OG this late into it.. better at least save a PS spot for him. Or that’s dirty lol

I think giving him the chance at OL is more about respect for Pat to try and keep him around. At least give him an opportunity.

Peter kings review is when I started to get a bit tumescent in the pants

Jeff Z says all the backup QBs are stock down especially JJ. Also Duvernay stock down.

It's pretty clear that PS will determine who makes it as QB2 and Duv is just not it. Agholor is dominating with first time QB Lamar. Duv is in year 4 with him and is making no plays

Sounds like the Pat Ricard experiment might be of his own doing - understands FB won't be used as much in this offense so is trying to find other ways to prove he's worth having on the field.

I know you've been the leader of the Duvernay hate train, but there's some missing context to this post that they've been managing his practice reps to this point. Not saying he shouldn't or couldn't be doing more, but sounds like there's more to it than him just being bad.

Why are they managing his practice reps? He's still not fully healed? Did he get surgery? I can't remember reading that at all.

They've been managing nearly all of the reps for the injured guys from last year apparently. Purely assumption, but it seems like they're being more mindful of the guys that didn't get to workout all offseason and are slowly ramping them up. Might be a new mindset in the building.

That would be great honestly

I know it's a whole 6 second clip and he's new to practicing there, but that set would lead me to believe he'd be quite susceptible to a bull rush. At least he's not bending at the waist like Doss next to him though lol

Why would he be susceptible? Chest is exposed but the pad level and waist and knee bend are great

not event he technique to me- he looks way to small in comparison which is crazy because hes massive- just shows you the difference between linemen and guys who move in space. imo, he would be best suited to be a main blocking tightend.

we should give him the benefit of switching positions and becoming an all pro once before- and that he just got out of hip surgery. I love pat and hope we find a role for him.

funny I googled it and pat is both taller and heavier than linderbaum lmao. could be tough playing those two next to one another -rams game vs Donald I would bench Lamar! he is probably higher off the surgery than the typical weight though.

To be fair, Doss on his left is listed at 6-5 and 380 lbs. Most guys are gonna look small next to that. Assuming Ricard is back up to around 300 (and it looks like he might be), he's similar in size to Guidone next to him.

camera angle probably helps Doss too and distorts the reality.
