Desire to win? Self respect? Respect of his team mates?

What would Lamar gain by sitting out?

Lol.. so its OK for the team when it's just business, but not the player? I'm not saying sit out the year but camp and everything else can go to hell. I'm showing up latest possible date without losing money and then signing the tag. He did everything right last year and what did it get him?

There are a lot of teams kicking significant amounts of money down the road right now. You've got to think that means the salary cap is about to balloon heavily. I mean, we already knew that to some extent, but seems like it's getting closer to confirmed.
Exactly. Isn't the TV money supposed to kick in soon?

So why didn't we do this with Lamar's contract?

Has sitting out ever really worked for a player?

So you think the Ravens didn’t offer Lamar a fair deal? What do you know the team did exactly? I guess it’s possible they tried to lowball him, but that’s highly doubtful and not how they’ve handled business in the past. Seems like they got pushed into a corner and took the smartest road possible with the non exclusive tag.

The dude made a bet that there was a team that would give him exactly what he wants. I guess it could still happen, but it looks like he lost the bet. If that’s the case he would gain exactly zero by sitting out, and probably lose even more in the long run.

I don't know what the offer was or what he's asking for. Wasn't he up for a deal his 3rd year? That gives them a season before the Watson deal gets done. Maybe Lamar wasn't ready. It seems like the FO waits until the last minute to get deals done. How many guys are usually signed early? Again, if he leaves he leaves. If he's re-signed, cool. My point was as a player, it seems he's done everything he's supposed to and people turning on him regardless.

Took a while cause I was looking at that Bears trade... damn

Who is Carolina giving away the farm for?

After his 2019 season, any FO worth their salt would have made Lamar's long term deal absolute priority. Like, nothing else matters until he's locked for 5-6 years.

untrue. HAVE YOU SEEN THE WAY HE PLAYS? if he loses his running ability, he's done. It's not his arm talent, it's his ability to read defenses. You want him, but NOT for that long

99.999% sure that if he had an agent he would have had a lucrative deal long ago. I just want him to see him do the smart thing and move forward.

Based on today Bears, Fins, and Panthers are officially out of the Lamar sweepstakes

Lol why are you so dramatic

Bucs might be making a play for Lamar …They were in one of the worst cap situations to begin but this could get interesting
