Next Up: Vs. Steelers

Not on field: LG Alex Lewis (neck), RT James Hurst (back), LT Ronnie Stanley (foot/ankle), G/C Bradley Bozeman (calf), OLB Tim Williams (foot/ankle), MLB C.J. Mosley (undisclosed), CB Brandon Carr (knee), CB Marlon Humphrey (thigh) and S Tony Jefferson (undisclosed)

that's 3 starting OL, 3 starting DBs, CJ, the backup OL for if any of those starting OL cant go and Timmy

that's a bad looking participation report
Stanley, Humphrey, and Carr not playing I have us getting blown out and the season ending. If we lose the next two Harbaugh is done

I couldn’t resist. And I know it’s an exaggeration on Mosley he had a good game just got beat on some coverage.

They said in 2016 that trade downs were made specifically to accommodate DeCosta's strategy of getting all those guys in the 4th round.
And those were talented guys, contributed way more than some early round picks.
So you’re saying trade all early round picks to completely own the fourth round? This may be a good strategy...nobody could snipe us then!

I don't actually like that approach, just stating facts.
Better strategy would be to take the best available guy, any position. Sick of trading down and missing on some great talent over the last several drafts.

this suggests to me that maybe some of his struggles are because he really hasnt been fully healthy since...
Well then that would suggest that he’s literally never healthy enough to play at a high level and someone like that isn’t worth a big contract.

Maybe and I’d agree he’s injured and maybe that’s due to him gaining weight. Not sure whose idea that was but whoever it is needs to get him to slim down because ol’ boy isn’t the same.

Yeah I was joking. I don’t mind trading down but I think we need to be more aggressive too. Sometimes the pick is a gimme but we don’t take it and it’s maddening. I really hope Decosta solves our problems here because we can’t keep doing this anymore.

The Alabama CJ Mosley looks different to the 2018 version of CJ Mosley. Even in his rookie year he looked better defending the pass than now. Its 2018 the Nfl no longer uses 260lbs FBs to take out Lbs.

Yeah that’s what I am thinking too. I’m not absolving Mosley but it’s not like he would be the first guy we had mistakenly bull up so I’m thinking that could be a contributing factor. It needs to change though because I think it is definitely hurting his game.

It seems to be hurting his body, too.

I remembered hearing it back several years ago, but I could only find a 2018 article from the official website that said DeCosta organizes the drafts, but Ozzie has final say.
Decosta does the board rankings I believe and he absolutely has a say, don't get me wrong but Ozzie does have the final say and he calls the shots come draft day.

Our late round picks have been what has kept this team afloat. We've hit big there.
