To my point ... I said that players at these positions should not get paid unless they are "truly difference making players". Each of the players you've listed are that and possess the attribute at their given position that make them difference makers who deserve big time contracts: ILBs must be outstanding in coverage, DTs must be more than run stuffers, but must also get pressure up the gut and RBs need to be able to catch the ball and be a major threat in the open field.
Okay, I guess we're just arguing semantics then--no worries. Probably just how I read it but I just felt your statement was too broad. I definitely think everyone would agree you need a complete player to justify a second contract. No reason to give a pass rushing specialist DT who can only do just that a big second deal if he'll get destroyed on the first two downs because it won't matter and no reason to get an ILB who can stop TE but is crap against stopping the run and other ILB duties because then it's still sort of the same problem. We need complete players not just these one-dimensional guys who do one thing but that's it.
Not sure if Williams is playing with an undisclosed injury or not, but he's basically been invisible on the field. Right now it looks like Pierce would have been more deserving of that contract.
Maybe he is but who knows. He was good early on so perhaps there’s something going on with him

Marty: you know what, let’s take away the passing game completely. Run the ball every single play. Get rid of the receivers. Put 8 lineman on the field every play plus Lamar, Gus, and Chris Moore for sweeps. Sometimes put Hayden Hurst in so he can be completely neglected. Unstoppable.
Let’s not forget lime Flacco up on the field and have him stand like a statue to make it easier on the defense.

Why are we acting like the Bengals got destroyed on defense? They gave up 24 points which is honestly not too bad especially when you consider how bad they had been for the past month.

Marvin just made an observation which is basically "you can win a few games running that much but the QB will not last'
Would have been atleast 10 more points without the refs shitty calls

It's basically a captain obvious statement that everyone, including Harbaugh, has acknoledged. Coming from the losing coach it still sounds like sour grapes. The fact is, they knew what was coming and couldn't stop it.

I know it is a different defense now than they've had, but it is still worth noting that since Dec 2012, we've scored more than 24 points against the Bengals 1 time in 13 games and are 4-9 against them in that span. We've been somewhere between pedestrian and atrocious offensively against this team and they've been a thorn in our side forever.

Lamar didn't set the world on fire - but did quite well for a rookie QB in his first NFL start (would you not agree?). We got a win against a nemesis that has plagued us in recent history. For some reason, there are some who are having a difficult time being happy about that.

Shoot a lot of people didn’t want us to start Jackson because it was the Bengals and it was for the playoffs lol. Now some say that because it’s the Bengals it’s no big deal. Just can’t win. I’m not taking much from the game because it’s one game against a bad defense but it’s nice to see him do well when Flacco has consistently struggled against them.

We would have lost if Flacco played .

Cause some here are Flacco fans disguised as Ravens fans. I've been saying this for years and been called crazy and a hater...

I think so too. Our defense struggled at times and that was with crazy clock control, if Flacco was out there getting sacked and leading 10 3 and outs, they would have burned out.

#fakenews we don't lead the league in 3 and outs surprisingly. Which leads me to believe we the lead the league in most 1st downs followed by a punt.

The offense has regressed to not even getting into Tucker range for the most part prior.

I think the Steelers and bills games severely offset those numbers, our offense took over those games methodically. If you eliminate those games but apply our averages for the rest of the year to it, I have a hard time thinking we’d be anything but bottom 5

I doubt it too, but I've been really lazy stat and review wise this season. Just taking it how I see it. And considering I only watched half of the last game semi sober I won't add much on that. I seriously have no idea what happened from the 3rd quarter to about 8 pm eastern that day.

Walter ' I hate the Ravens" Coleman certainly helped with this against Cincy.

Many on our board don’t like his side arm throwing, but this was just LJ adjusting his arm angle to what he needed to complete the pass. Announcers love how Patrick Mahomes adjust his arm angle, LJ can do the same thing. Maybe not as good, but he’s got a lot of potential and I loved LJ in college.

it's the phillip rivers special - it shows you how much a qb is thinking or understanding what's happening in the pocket in front of him

It's amazing how close the score was despite the fact that we outgained them 403-255 and dominated TOP 38:09-21:51.

Exactly, no one on here will ever complain about Mahomes or Rivers side arming it. It helps them make throws they normally couldn’t.

But when Lamar does it, oh shit he’s horrible. He shouldn’t do that! Put Flacco back in!!

I absolutely love it when guys can do that consistently. It's a really difficult thing to do.

Here are some of my observations, they're worth not much but still more than Tony Lombardi:

1) The best throw of the game was Jackson to Snead on 2nd and 17 in our own territory. That was a huge momentum switcher and if I'm correct led to a TD drive that would put us right back in a tie with the Bengals. That Jackson-Snead connection looks real, we all knew Lamar liked the slant more than anything but both look on the same page and I'm eager to see what it will become in the future.

2) I understand it was the Bengals and Lamar's first game, but seriously, this much runs won't do every week. What would it have cost to get a screen to Ty Montgomery, or some rollouts to ensure easy completions? And for fuck sake, you got Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews against Hardy Nickerson and a banged up Burfict, find something man, it's not hard!

3) Hats off to Humph for the best play of his career. One on one on an island against a natural man beater route, way to put your big boy pants and make yourself accountable.

4) I want Bozeman to replace Lewis.
