2019 WR Thread

I’ve never watched him lol.

But my mans... you don’t just throw that comp around Willy nilly
you'll like him. Trust me. Really good route runner, good hands, makes tough catches. He does NOT play as fast as his 40 time, and Mason's acceleration was much much better. But he's an excellent WR prospect if you're looking for a move-the-chains possesion guy

I don't know. Every time I go watch NC State to see Harmon, I see a lot of Meyers, that I do know.
Another WR I really like and nobody ever mentions is Sills, WVU. Interesting that both of them are converted QBs.

yeah i like him - relatively new to the position too but he has a nice feel for it

8. Terry McLaurin- He does not play as fast as his 40 time and is getting overlooked but this guy reminds me of Derrick mason so much. Quality routes, good hands, tough dude. He's not going to be a #1, but he should be good.

Mclaurin is the lowest graded WR i've watched so far - nothing special about him - has a lot of polish on him but doesn't have the intangibles that make me think he'll be successful - the speed probably bumps him up the grade a little bit but he doesnt look 4.35 fast on film

he could develop but i dont see anything like the prospect you seem to see

also his hands/ball skills are probably his worst trait honestly

Man, I'm no pro athlet nor bodybuilder so I'm 99% wrong on this.
However, I've been around different sports and gyms my entire life and that DK gut screams pretty much like GH to me.
Idk..fear like he's going to follow LaRon Landry's path

all the people trumpeting him as an athletic freak are not taking into account his incredibly poor 3 cone

3 percentile or something like that.. Pretty damn poor, indeed. Then of course if you only have him running go-to's, corners and posts you might play him at his strength and mitigate that deficiency. You'd have another frigging Perriman rather than a J.Jones.
If that flexibility issue is only a thing because of his low fat % then you can easily get on track with a few trips to McDonald.
But I really can't tell where the problem lays.. I'd just rather have a good route runner later on and improve the Oline (if there's someone worthy) in the 1st

Yup... he’s still going top 15 (I hope). I don’t want to sweat when ravens are on the board

If anything the combine might have shifted his grade down for me - I know he can run a mostly vertical route tree but I’ve not seen him run anything else and now everything points to a lack of flexibility to be able to do those other things too

He's run more than vertical routes. Even DeMarkus Lodge complained about how the receivers were used at Ole Miss. I actually believe it is a testament to D.K worldly talent that he was able to do what he did at Ole Miss, considering the way the receivers were used.

He ran curls, comebacks, hitches and yes 9 routes.

i meant that at Ole Miss their route tree is based around vertical route running (not that they dont run different routes but that the way their scheme asks them to run routes is very much a way of thinking about route running on the vertical plain only) - i dont mean vertical in the sense that they only run 9 routes

yes, D.K. and all the receivers at Ole Miss were put at a disadvantage by how they were used. I believe D.K. will do very well at the next level, I'm just not sure he'd be my first choice in Baltimore.

all im saying by the initial post was that the tape doesnt show a huge amount of flexibility (very well may be because of the scheme etc) but its not on tape and now i see that stuff at the combine and as athletic and productive as he might be that still scares me a lot

teams need to know his limitations and use him to his strengts, but I do agree with you with your last point.
