2019 WR Thread

Antoine Wesley is interesting - especially when viewing him post-combine

he's got really surprising flexibility and precise route running which he works really well in short-areas to get open - has a real understanding of how to set up a corner too - demonstrates a real nuance and craft with the route running elements of the game - he does have a weird tell where he flails his outside arm away from his body at the break but that's not something that's a real hindrance to him at the next level

and on top of that he's probably got the best hands in the draft (certainly out of the prospects ive watched so far)

the problem is that he has a distinct lack of explosion and i think the fact that he did everything except the 40 is pretty telling of how he thinks he would run - 40 times arent anything but it tells you that he probably thinks his long speed is an issue

he makes up for it with good agility and flexibility and that may well translate to decent enough short-area burst (or something that has the same impact on a corner) especially for a tall receiver but i wonder about that top-speed - great catch radius, great length, great hands, great ball tracking, good nuanced route running, not great burst or speed and yet he somehow makes consistent big plays down the field and with the ball in his hands in college

this is a really tricky grade - feels like a better route-running version of the marcell ateman grade last year

Yeah, I watched Wesley prior to the combine and liked him a lot. His traits definitely translate to the next level. He's also a pretty decent blocker as that will be something that we like to have in a WR.

What is a good Deebo game to watch?

clemson's a good one if you want to see him wreck a defence
akron's one where the production is low but he's still completely dominant (also useful as it's the most recent game he's played outside of the senior bowl)
Missouri is pretty good too - some nice blocks and some nice routes etc.

i mean tbh most of his tape is pretty good across all the games i found

I want Penny Hart

his lack of length is a real issue - he's a really interesting prospect but i think on top of being really small he might also have short arms because he really doesnt have the ability to go and get the ball so well

ive graded 17 wrs so far lol - im trying to go positionally because i have less time than last year so im focusing on positions i think will be important in this class for the ravens first

ive got 10 wrs with day 2 grades so far

One mid to late round WR I hope the Ravens take a look at is Jamarius Way from South Alabama. He's really big (6'3 220) and plays like it. Seems like he has pretty good body control too. And in an interview he's said that he prides himself on being the safety net to his QB. That if the QB is ever in trouble just throw his way and he'll come down with it. I think he could be upgrade over Moore, or at least more consistent.

I know it's just a highlight video but one thing does stand out, he adjusts to off target passes really well and always fights to bring them in.

Nothing you grade as a first round receiver?

Looks like he's just what Broncos need

Fair enough but then it should be an issue for Mecole Hardman and Andy Isabella.

It may well be - wasn’t so impressed by hardman and haven’t got to Isabella’s tape yet

I think the thing with penny is that on top of being small he has pretty short arms too (or at least it looks that way - I’m annoyed he was snubbed by the combine)

Damn real quiet in the prospect section. Well I got nothing to add.
