This potential signing has nothing to do with BWill as they play VERY different roles. BWill's job is to prevent the run so that the best secondary in football can win the game. McCoy isn't going to be involved in that.
The best secondary is meaningless though if they can just ram it down your throat which makes me wonder how sure it is that BWill is gone. Its not like they save a ton cutting him (4.5m I believe) so unless they think they have someone better I don't know why you would.
I too wanted Chris Jones and had him as a first rounderOne thing i just realized
chris jones ( who i wanted us to draft in 2016 in the 2nd round) is a free agent. Just something for us all to think about
having said that if we don't fucking fix our interior O line FOR REAL at some point im going to go insane. im tired of the MEH at LG and C
RR was not himself from Day 1. He had bulked up, slowed down and didn’t look anything like the player he was. Many times he would just go down before contact, it was painful to watch.Ray Rice injury I think we the key piece that slowed the season down. Given all the departures etc etc
Keep in mind that Smitty had beef with the FO (particularly Gettleman) so he waned revenge on them. We kicked the ever loving shit out of them that year too.He joined in 14. 12 we won the bowl and 13 finished 8-8. I was shocked he picked us over Patriots, at the time.

Panthers WR Torrey Smith has agreed to a pay cut of $2M, per source. He was due a $5M non-guaranteed salary this season, but is now owed a $2M base salary and $1M more in bonuses. This creates $2M In cap space for Carolina.
You've got a crappy feeling? Really that's new!I've got this crappy feeling that despite so much positivity the browns are going to get McCoy even though i think he likes our organization better they can offer him more money and on paper a better team
You say that like there's nothing easier in the world to do...let's just get chris jones next year. younger version of McCoy

Blocking TEs aren't a dime a dozen. Colleges don't use TEs nearly as much as they used to and many of them coming out of college are nothing but big slot WRs. Genuinely good blocking TEs are a dying breed.I brought it up on twitter, but Jesus that Boyle contract hurts. I know $6 million doesn't look like a lot... but when you factor in that most of these teams with crazy amounts of cap space have done so via rollover cap. That's suddenly $6 million for let's face it... A replacement level player.
I know Boyle is a damn good blocking TE, possibly the best in the league, but he's not the best by a country mile by any means, and blocking TEs are a dime a dozen so that's not a valid argument by any stretch of the imagination. Hell Maxx Williams, who is also a very good blocking TE(and arguably just as versatile) got paid for pennies on the dollar.
It's contracts like these that contribute to cap hell more than almost anything. Other things like resetting the market for Brandon Williams(for those reading and keeping score, score one for me... again) which was DUMBER with hindsight because of how good Pierce has turned out to be(hint: better than Williams ever was). The third round comp pick we would've gotten for him seems real nice now. Or how we pay James Hurst damn near starting RT money to royally shit the bed. Or how we paid Ladarius Webb craploads despite a clearly serious second ACL injury.
So if we lose out on McCoy because of money.. Thank Eric. That $6 million would've looked really good to have for McCoy.
Most of the HIGH END tight ends nowadays are big move TEs. Many of the TEs in the later rounds are solid blockers and nothing more who need a bit of coaching up. Many of which were taken in this draft alone. So I don't buy that argument. There's still enough coming out that will go UDFA or later that are very good blockers. Dying breed? Hardly, but I'd buy it if they're going down in quantity. But even then there's a surplus of good blocking TEs right now on the FA market, and that's just a fact.Blocking TEs aren't a dime a dozen. Colleges don't use TEs nearly as much as they used to and many of them coming out of college are nothing but big slot WRs. Genuinely good blocking TEs are a dying breed.
thanks! Boyle is basically a OL who can catch, but you can't really use him as a receiver, he's slow as molasses and we all know how Boyle did in the red zone when Flacco targeted him.I brought it up on twitter, but Jesus that Boyle contract hurts. Sorry but its 100% not eric fault. Lose out on mccoy and youre gonna blame him cause of one contract? 6million?. Who was resoonsible for the bwill and jeffro contract? Why they arent to blame?I brought it up on twitter, but Jesus that Boyle contract hurts.
