Crowd of Protesters: Dead Cops!

Protester: "When do we want it?"

Crowd of Protesters: "NOW!"

They do realize that everyone is on their side right? Like we all want something to finally be done when it should have been done a long time ago. This is the stuff that hurts your protest, this is the stuff that says it's not about George Floyd. I don't know if defunding the police will solve anything or do anything except for allowing the looters and rioters to freely destroy and steal all they want without consequence. It's funny how democrats are saying to defund the police, which would then allow rioters and looters and other criminals to do whatever they want without accountability, at while asking for police to be held accountable. Can't have it both ways.

i mean i can show you the difference in outcome of protests in the UK today - London had a major police presence and ended up with police charging, a protestor getting trampled by a loose police horse and on previous days multiple arrests and some violence

in manchester (the 2nd biggest city in the UK) there was minimal police presence and it was completely peaceful

there's something to be said in general about police (as they exist in their current form worldwide) being an escalatory force and not the community protectors and servers they are supposed to be

and i honestly dont know what the democrats are asking for because they've been pretty absent in this movement generally as a party - they're not the protestors - nor are they really part of the movement... they are passengers at best

but there's not real evidence that rioting or looting is a major issue without police escalation

the whole philosophy of defunding the police is about putting that money saved into different community serving places that then take the place of the police in certain issues - like if someone's become a danger to themselves with mental health issues, there's an emergency number with dedicated professionals who can resolve the immediate danger and get that person the help they need

the police right now are asked to put on too many hats that they arent qualified to do - defund them and look at other ways of solving community issues

the only reason you would ever need police in this situation is to deal with violent crime (and even then the police as they currently exist are not good at dealing with violent incidents anyway - they either escalate situations or ignore complaints)

Compliance with department policy? This is fucking unbelievable. There is no law, other than department policy? Does anybody know better definition of the "police state"?

Carolina Panthers terminate agreement with sponsor CPI Security following an email sent by the founder and CEO of the company. CEO Kenneth Gill responded to an email from the group Queen City Unity by saying “a better use of time, would be to focus on the black on black crime.”



He later sent out an apology....
