Also can anyone else name a better situation for a QB than the one Brady has had?

GOAT coach
Basically the same great OC for all of his career
Consistently has at least one weapon at the top of the league, usually two.
Some great Defenses
And an almost always great O-line
AND a system that encourages quick passes allowing for a minimal amount of hits being taken

Jeez.

Belicheck is the GOAT coach for me
Without a doubt. I do want to see how well he does on a regular basis without Brady. There has only been one coach to win a super bowl with more than one qb, I’m wondering if B.B. can make that two. Hell, forget B.B., I hope John Harbaugh can do it.

Try and tell me the AFC isn't boring. This gets old. At least you see some new stuff every year in the NFC.“

Thank god for joe flacco adding some spice to the conference the last 16 years and ruining that stat - I think he’s also the only qb to beat all 3 in the playoffs too

I’d much rather watch a rerun of the senior bowl than the pro bowl lol
I've already paid to watch the Pro Bowl with my Game Pass subscription so I could have kept one mildly interested eye on it, but because it starts and finishes before I'm stuck at my desk the NFL would have to pay me to watch it to compensate for everything else I could be doing.

As good as Mahomes and Brady were today, the best qb performance in the building came from Romo in the booth

I don’t get how he can call the plays off audibles as they happen with no actual idea what the playcall is - and he does it so seemlessly and defences with 11 men can’t do it as well as he does

Romo when he’s in the booth genuinely changes the way I watch a football game for the better
I love Romo in the booth and it's clear CBS sees him as one of its big stars. As much hate as Al Michaels gets I really like him as a play-by-play announcer because I find his distinct voice so memorable (I still get chills thinking about that Joe Flacco drive in Pittsburgh in 2011 to sweep the Steelers). I'd love to see NBC send Chris Collinsworthless somewhere else and see how a Michaels/Romo pairing works out. That's probably the best All-Star commentary pairing I can think of out of the current talent.

I mean Brady’s had different OCs and sometimes no OC

You can say he’s had great coaching but it’s hard to argue they always had great talent around him because they’ve had bare bones at the skill positions the last few years and turned absolute nobodies into viable options - who are his top shelf weapons this year? and their OL is normally good but it’s not been exceptional for a long time - in fact the talent on this pats OL is undeniably bad but they’ve outperformed their talent as a group - and fair enough that’s great coaching

But here’s a stat that’s undeniable:
Brady’s has 17 healthy seasons, he’s now in his 9th super bowl - of the super bowls he could have got to he’s got to 53% of them - that’s outrageous

It’s literally a pointless argument to talk about the system there because Brady is instrumental in creating and running that system

You could argue Brady’s had 2 separate HOF careers he’s been that good and successful for that long

BB absolutely is the GOAT
Brady is also undeniably the GOAT

Makes me appreciate Joe Flacco so much, and the fact we were the team to break that little streak. Joe Flacco is the ONE in 15-1.

In the regular season, both teams have a chance to get the ball if one team gets a Field Goal. If you score a Touchdown, game over. That works for the regular season but playoffs? Both teams should get a chance. In baseball, just because the Red Sox scored at the top of the 13th didn't mean the Dodgers just lose, they get a chance to tie or win the game. Of course that game ended up going 18 innings.
Major soccer championship matches go two full 15 minute periods. If they are still tied then they go to PKs. Something similar should be put in place in the NFL. It’s too big of a game to hinge on a coin toss.

That might be cool but I love the chemistry he’s built up with nantz- and the way nantz gives him space to do his thing - michaels and collinsworth have a well practiced slick dynamic but it’s far less flexibile than the romo-nantz dynamic and I’m not sure I’d want to risk breaking either duo apart tbh

Hmmmm......I think McDaniels has been in NE for the majority of Brady's career. Also, I don’t think they have a SB win without him.

New England’s strategy going into OT? Heads we win!

Not bitter just cause it was The Pats I said before the toss that I felt the way the 4th quarter went that the winner of the toss likely wins the game. To have a winner like that in a conference championship - in a game as classic as that - is a abomination

The rule must be changed at least for the postseason.

Pertaining to current commentators, BY FAR Romo is my favorite play-by-play guy. I still miss Gruden in the booth, but damn, Romo makes up for his absence albeit on a different network.

I disagree. If your defense can't make a stop when the game is on the line then your team deserves that loss.

In fairness, part of that is because of Brady. He's taken a far lower salary than most franchise QBs and they've been able to build a better overall team. He's also had some horrible defenses that the offense carried.

That really makes no sense. If you win the toss there’s a big chance your D never sees the field. The outcome shouldn’t weigh so heavily on a coin toss.

I agree with this, but tbh I wouldn't be opposed to the NFL switching to the college OT rules where they go to a kind of shootout.

It's not often I agree with the NCAA on anything but there you go.

The outcome only relies on the cointoss if you choke and fail to make a play. Especially now that the game keeps going after a field goal. Get the touchdown if your offense is out there or make the stop if your defense is out there. Be clutch and win the game. That's supposed to be the entire point of the playoffs.

Dude please quit being salty. Hardly anyone here likes Brady. But just stop trying to discredit everything he does already...it’s getting annoying

Right, that is the point. But you don’t win the game if your defense makes the stop, so if you lose the toss you may not even get the chance to win. If you win the toss, score and you win. The toss of a coin should not have that much impact on the outcome of a game.

Who knows, there might be a silver lining in all this in 2 weeks time - NE win another one, BB and quarterback retire.

I could live with that.
