The Good, The Bad and The O-Line Thread - Wild Card Round vs Chargers

That’s interesting and it explains a lot because Lamar looked good once he ran two minute offense and took more control. That tells me that the tip off did have a big impact and it explains why we struggled. Sucks that something like this did us in for the year

So ironically, if the Chargers had taken a larger lead early forcing the offense to play more aggressively like they did in Q4, the game might have gone better?

Carson Palmer said that every team in the playoffs was capable of winning the Super Bowl except for one. Guess who?

Well, he is an expert on getting to Super Bowls and going deep in the playoffs.

Maybe I don’t know. We looked better when we let Lamar take the reigns.

It's going to be interesting. Keeping the game "Simple" for Jackson was definitely part of the coaching. We did finish 6-1 with him in there. However, we won a Championship with a Quarterback we cut the next year. If the rest of your team is good enough, you can win with a non conventional QB. Even Peyton Manning was Carried by Denver in that Championship.

Second time around seeing Jackson, lets see how the League responds. Folks here have the best Rose Colored Glasses in the Game. The Best. They forgot all about Jackson's Wonderlic scores.

Carson Palmer is right, this is not the path the Raven's should have taken. Yet they did.

well this is a damning indictment of our coaching staff:

"In the last 6 weeks, on 253 total run plays, BAL has pulled their LG 73 times. The RG has pulled 0 times. They have not run Power or Counter to the offense's left a single time."

All in all with the lack of adjustment and wrinkles I'm surprised it took this long for a defence to figure out the tendencies...

Yeah, he wasn’t wrong. Obviously experience is invaluable and pretty much a requirement when you get to the tournament.
He was wrong about Ravens being in trouble if "their run game doesn't work and they have to go to passing game" though. Like fucking parrots, all of them, yet we finally scored once we let Lamar play and, wait for it, he started throwing.

yep, that's when the offense started clicking.

LG James Hurst endured a rough afternoon, giving up three sacks and one hit. His 28.4 overall grade was the lowest on the team, and he earned an unenviable 0.0 pass blocking grade.

Ridiculous
Could have been a little better if Bozeman had started on Sunday, but maybe not enough to change the outcome of the game.

Fix the line

Fix the line

it was especially bad that it was the interior that broke down too - pressure up the middle inherently gets to the qb faster but it also restricts space and stops the qb from stepping up into that space

it's why for me 2 of our top 3 needs are Interior OL and Interior Pass Rusher

It was basically the reverse of the first game against the Chargers when we were the ones to crash the interior and get into Rivers' face. Pressure up the middle wrecks any offense and we can't have Hurst and Skura starting next year.
